The chances of Miles Austin playing this Sunday against the San Diego Chargers are looking very slim. Austin tweaked his hamstring at the end of the St. Louis Rams game and hasn't practiced all week as he sat out again on Friday. With the knowledge of how hamstring injuries have affected Austin in previous years it's likely the Cowboys will not be taking any chances. Overly-cautious is probably their mindset so with the #2 receiver not practicing all week it would seem doubtful he will play.
Dwayne Harris' prospects are better; he returned to practice on Friday raising the possibility that he will be able to go on Sunday. If Austin can't go as expected having Harris available would be a key factor for Dallas. Harris has experience as a receiver and plays a variety of roles on the special teams. Terrance Williams will likely get the call as the starter for Austin but Harris and Cole Beasley will assume bigger roles. The Cowboys will also depend on their tight end crew plus the running backs to add firepower in the passing game.
DeMarcus Ware didn't suit up for practice again today but that was expected and there should be no issue with him playing. Linebacker Ernie Sims was able to make it through a week of practice and should return to the active roster on game day.
