The Dallas Cowboys will welcome defensive lineman Jeremy Mincey back to the practice field on Sunday, according to Jason Garrett. Mincey had been holding out in hopes of re-doing the final year of his two-year contract that he signed prior to the 2014 season. Mincey was slated to make $1.5 million this season but based on his production in 2014, he was looking for more. Stephen Jones made it clear that there would be no renegotiation until Mincey showed up in Oxnard.

It was reported earlier that Mincey was coming to training camp to discuss a two-year contract and meet with Jones but nothing more has been revealed. Head coach Jason Garrett says he expects Mincey to be on the practice field today, although the Cowboys will ease him into practice after he missed the first few days.

"We're not going to put him out there and put him in a situation that might compromise him," Garrett said. "So we'll see what he's able to do and we'll make the right decision for our team and for him."

We'll await word on any progress towards a new contract.
