Hopefully, the Cowboys defensive line will all be ready for the playoffs.
With all the injuries along the Dallas Cowboys defensive line, the organization had to make a roster move today to get some help. The Cowboys signed defensive tackle Richard Ash off of the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. The Cowboys injuries along the defensive line include DeMarcus Lawrence, Tyrone Crawford, Terrell McClain and Cedric Thornton. Those four players are not expected to practice today and are unlikely to play in the meaningless season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition, the team is placing defensive lineman Ryan Davis on IR after the knee injury he suffered in the most recent game. That opened up a roster spot for Ash, an undrafted free agent signed by the Jags in 2015. He’s only played in a couple of games the past two years.
The Cowboys would have liked to bring back Zach Moore, who was called up for one game, then released to make room for Randy Gregory. He was claimed by the San Francisco 49ers, forcing the Cowboys to pick up Ash instead. With the rash of injuries along the defensive line, Ash just may get some playing time in Week 17.
