Josh Brent received the sentence for his intoxication manslaughter conviction on Friday Morning.

After being convicted of Intoxication Manslaughter on Wednesday for the 2012 auto crash that took the life of his teammate and best friend Jerry Brown Jr., Josh Brent sat again before the jury in the court room Friday morning to hear his sentence. There was much speculation about how much of the potential 20 year maximum prison sentence he would serve or whether he would receive probation. The judge in the case sentenced Josh Brent to 10 years probation, accompanied by the mandatory 180 days in jail (it remains to be seen whether he will receive credit for time served).

So, #JoshBrent's probation will be up about the 2nd week of #Cowboys training camp in Oxnard... Do they bring give him another shot? @NBCDFW

190 days puts Brent unretired and in Oxnard. Why wouldn't #Cowboys want this. It's happening - Unless @nflcommish says otherwise.

As Fish alludes, all of this speculation about Brent playing in 2014 is dependent on what type of punishment is handed down to Brent from commissioner Roger Goodell's office. However, I'm sure Jerry Jones & Co. would argue that he's already served a 20 game suspension, and that the punishment should be reduced.
