It sure has been a season of churn for the Dallas Cowboys along the defensive line, and today we can add another casualty to the list. Defensive tackle Marvin Austin, who was just signed on Oct. 21st, has been released by the Cowboys after they learned a back injury would keep him out for a few weeks. Austin played in the Lions game but was unable to suit up for the Vikings game. A back injury flared up at the end of last week, leaving the Cowboys thin in the middle. They'll need to add help for Jason Hatcher, Nick Hayden and Drake Nevis, especially with Hatcher's stinger issue.

The Cowboys also lost backup guard David Arkin off the practice squad to the Miami Dolphins. Miami has had some, let's say, issues at guard over the last week and Richie Incognito is no longer welcomed on the team. So they grabbed Arkin as depth.

In a possible positive development, Jerry Jones seems to think that DeMarcus Ware will play this week. That would be huge for a defensive line that could use a boost from one of the best pass rushers to ever play. But, this is only Jerry's early in the week take on things, let's see a few practices before we get our hopes too high. Still, remembering what Ware did against New Orleans before is exactly what Dallas needs to slow down this high-powered passing attack in the Big Easy. Back in 2009, this was Ware:

Six days after he suffered a neck injury against the San Diego Chargers, Ware recorded two sacks of Drew Brees, two forced fumbles and three quarterback pressures. His second forced fumble ended the Saints’ final scoring drive and handed New Orleans its first loss of the season.

Sure would be nice to see Ware back in the lineup.
