There’s a new defensive tackle in town, and his name is Daniel Ross.
Once upon a time, the Dallas Cowboys poached defensive lineman David Irving from the practice squad of the Kansas City Chiefs. Lather, rinse, repeat. The Cowboys have reportedly signed defensive tackle Daniel Ross from the same place.

As is noted, the Cowboys did have an open roster spot on their 53-man roster due to the suspension Ezekiel Elliott is now serving. The Cowboys are now at full capacity.
The defensive tackle group has undergone some interesting changes this season. Free agent acquisition Stephen Paea retired midseason, and Brian Price (who was claimed off waivers after the preseason) was recently placed on injured reserve.
Second-year standout Maliek Collins has been holding things down nicely, and the aforementioned David Irving has played well along the interior of the defensive line. Depth is still an issue, though.
It’s for this reason that the Cowboys promoted Lewis Neal from their own practice squad to the 53-man roster. Adding Daniel Ross in there now gives them Collins, Neal, Ross and Richard Ash.
Daniel Ross has been fighting for his chance in the NFL for quite a while. He originally spent time in the CFL before giving the NFL a shot this season. He went undrafted and has bounced around from the Houston Texans to the Detroit Lions to the Kansas City Chiefs before arriving here.
Ross gives the Cowboys a fourth undrafted rookie (Cooper Rush, Blake Jarwin, & Lewis Neal). That’s some pretty impressive scouting.
