The Cowboys made another move in free-agency today, though not on the level of the recent Anthony Spencer signing.

The Dallas Cowboys aren't quite through with free agency yet, even though the draft is just one week away. A few weeks ago the Cowboys worked out wide receiver LaRon Byrd, formerly of the Cardinals, and today they signed him to a two-year deal.

Byrd played for the University of Miami and entered the NFL after the 2012 draft. He wasn't selected but ended up signing as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Cardinals. He played in four games for the Cardinals in 2012 but only had one reception. He also saw some time on special teams. He suffered a severe concussion before the 2013 season and spent the whole year on the reserved/injured list. The Cardinals released him this April.

Measuring at 6 foot 4 and weighing 220 lbs, Byrd is a big-bodied receiver. He joins a contingent of wide receivers led by Dez Bryant and Terrance Williams, with Cole Beasley and Dwayne Williams as the only experienced, capable backups. Byrd will certainly have the opportunity to force his way into the rotation, although the Cowboys may still draft a wide receiver next week to compete for playing time
