Unconfirmed reports from Cris Carter puts some specificity to the Elliott situation.
Cris Carter went on FS1’s Undisputed show this morning and basically said that he has a source telling him that Ezekiel Elliott will be suspended and we should hear about it in the next 48 hours. He also said that information will come out that will make it easy to see why the NFL is suspending Zeke. He also hinted that the suspension would be more in the range of what Tom Brady got (four games) instead of the one or two games that have been referred to by other sources.
Carter never says that he is sure this is what is going to happen, but he says in strong terms that we should not be shocked if this is what comes to pass in the next couple of days. Several outlets are speculating that this may be an intentional leak by the NFL to pave the way for the ruling, much like what happened when Tom Brady was suspended and news of him destroying a cell phone came out a couple of days ahead of that.
You can listen to what Carter had to say:

Perhaps the most explosive part of Carter’s commentary was this:
Via Ryan Glasspiegel of TheBigLead.com, Carter said on FS1’s Undisputed that “in the next 48 hours I would be shocked if Zeke was not suspended.” Carter added that, “based on the information that’s going to come out, it’s going to be fairly easy to determine that something happened to this woman in her four days of being with Zeke.”
Carter described the situation as a case of “assault or domestic violence,” and Carter hinted that “when the information comes out there’s going to be some similarities” to Tom Brady’s suspension, including “information that he had been advised possibly to give up, that was destroyed.”
Jerry Jones has gone on record and claimed that he doesn’t believe that Zeke will be suspended based on the evidence he has seen. The two stories (Carter’s and Jones’) seem incompatible so we will see over the next few days if either are correct.
(Domestic violence is a serious subject, so please treat this with respect. Comments that are out-of-bounds could lead to suspensions or bans from the site.)
