I'm hoping Caleb Downs falls to us at 12 and Sonny Styles is still on the board at 20. My fear is that that the draft turns into a defense draft where the top prospcts go earlier than expected which would leave the top tier OTs around #20. Guyton hasn't played like a franchise LT. We might need to shift him over to the right side and draft another LT. We might have our pick of them at 20. But, not my preference.

I’d love downs and styles but I think you are spot on. Downs probably goes before we pick. If safety is gone then it’s really the best player at another need position. That could be CB though I don’t think this class has a standout cb but a deep class. I could sure see a scenario where LT was the right pick. Most important thing is get really good players. We have to hit on these 2 picks and if the best player is LT then I’d draft a LT. Personally I’d try to get an edge guy in FA. I’d look at all thrse big needs and see what i could do with a short term fix at any of them just so I don’t have to draft need

It’s time for my annual move up and take a shot at a potential franchise QB since we haven’t had one since Aikman left. I’ve been pushing for this move long before I joined the board in 2018.
Trade the 12, 20 and next years one to the Raiders and select Mendoza. Pipe dream…yes but that’s all we’ve ever got with Jerry at the helm.

You may get your wish in 2027. Doubtful for various reasons this year.

No I think you need to stick to number 12 but you can trade down from 20 that's the one most likely Might get you a 3rd or a 4th maybe both if you find the right trade partner.

They can't miss at 12 they literally need to pick the best player on the board no playing around no moving get the stud defender you're looking for it whatever position it is we need them all on defense so you get the biggest stud left on the board on defense I don't care what position he plays you go after him if that's what your board says he is the best defender left...

I would strongly consider trading back at both spots. Especially if a blue chip player is there that does not fit our needs.

I agree especially with them having no second or third round picks.

That said, Jerry has hyped the first round picks he got from Green Bay every time someone asked him about Parsons and since they traded one of their two first round picks in 2027 to the Jets for Williams, it's hard to see Jerry trading out of the first with both picks and maybe not even with one of them despite it being the smart move.

Just take best available at 12 and 20, then utilize FA. Like I trust Jerry or Will or Cap Boy or whichever idiot is responsible, not to trade down and grab a terrible reach pick in the 2nd.

Yup, even before the injury to micha he wasn't playing any better there than he was here, which was not worth the price he wanted.

If this turns into 4 players ( should they trade the 20th for a lower 1st and an additional day 2 pick) i think on paper we have the clear advantage

No...difference in trading back from 20 to say 30 and getting an extra late 2nd or 3rd....vs trading 20 for a 2nd and 3rd.. I want two firsts

I love LBs— but this team has one viable starting CB coming off a foot injury and two safeties who can’t cover.

Give me Downs all day and a smart physical CB that is a willing tackler.

Add starting LBs via free agency bc they won’t break the bank

Ok I’m confused but I’m married so that’s not a difficult feat. I thought you said trade back for a second day pick would be smarter which would put you in the second or third round.

The first round is the only round conducted on day 1

Sorry...trade back aka swap first round picks with someone so you have a late 20s pick but pick up a second day pick.

Looking at the value chart, moving back 10 spots would just about net the value of the end of the 2nd round.

Imagine trading back from 20 to 30, and getting a late 2nd....would give us 12, 30, 60ish....that coupled with an agreessive fa would be able to rebuild the defense in one swoop

Depends on who’s there we need talent. Defensive talent specifically

We need a generational type passrusher who could mask all our imperfections we have on defense. A Micah Parsons type would be perfect.

I'd rather trade both of our 1st round picks for a top 3 pick at QB but we need too much help on the defense to do that.
