Enjoy our Saturday bounty of news and notes about the Dallas Cowboys, the NFL and other stuff.

Broaddus: Hargrove Cut Makes Sense; Shows Faith In Wilber - DallasCowboys.com
Broaddus surmises that defensive end is one of the strengths of the 2013 Cowboys, and namedrops forgotten man Cameron Sheffield in addition to Tyrone Crawford and Kyle Wilber.

Albright Puts Injury History Behind, Embraces Utility Role - Rowan Kavner, DallasCowboys.com
Kavner writes that Albright doesn’t really have a primary position, though he lined up in the strongside linebacker spot while Durant was hurt during OTAs. Apparently, Albright looks at the depth chart every day to see where they’re going to put him, but he takes pride in his versatility and embraces his role as the "flavor of the day".

DeMarcus Ware No. 12 on NFL's top 100 - Tim MacMahon, ESPN Dallas
Yawn. They're still not done with the list?

Cowboys rank dead last in play-action - Football Outsiders
FO look at which offenses were the best and worst with play-action passes in 2012 and come to an unflattering conclusion about the Cowboys:

At the other end of the spectrum, we find the Dallas Cowboys. After ranking 30th in 2011, the Cowboys dropped down to last place, running play-action on just 11 percent of their plays. Given the Cowboys difficulty in the running game, rash of injuries, and inconsistent play on the line, it shocks no one to see Dallas bringing up the rear.

'Longshot' Dallas Cowboy Brandon Carr returns to Grand Valley State roots with a message - MLive.com
Brandon Carr and three other former Grand Valley State University football stars returned Friday from the NFL to work the GVSU Youth Camp. Carr had a simple message for the kids at the camp: Dreams do come true.

"I was a fifth round, late round pick, a Division II guy, and you aren’t expected to make it," said Carr, a 6-foot, 210-pound cornerback. "But I just kept my head down, stayed humble and kept grinding. I’m here now, heading into year six, and I’m still representing Grand Valley State."

Josh Brent's bond hearing postponed - Mike Fisher, FoxsportsSouthwest.com
Josh Brent's bond hearing was originally scheduled for Friday morning but has been delayed by a month. Fisher writes that the hearing is scheduled for July 19 (coincidentally, the day the Cowboys report to camp), and that the failed drug test for marijuana will put Brent in jail until his September manslaughter trial.

Vladimir Putin: Kraft Who? - NFL.com
Patriots owner Robert Kraft may be a big deal in Boston, but he and his Super Bowl ring apparently didn't leave much of an impression on Russian President Vladimir Putin, or so Putin says:

"You know, I do not remember either Mr. Kraft or the ring," Putin said, via AFP.

Slick.

"They handed out some sorts of souvenirs", Putin continued, referring to Kraft's Super Bowl ring.

Aced it.

Vikings don't plan to start first-round pick Floyd - NFL.com
Sharrif Floyd was the first player the Minnesota Vikings took in the 2013 NFL Draft. But despite their investment, it doesn't look like the Vikings will have Floyd in the starting lineup come Week 1.
