That was a big reason why i've changed my stance on whether or not he'll return. The players want him back including Romo and Dez. So what do you do?

I changed my stance also. If the team wants him back then why not. Who are we to say we know more than the players that play the game.

Yeah that was one aspect that I didn't take into account. I don't think they pay him CRAZY money.......but I do they think they pay him more than some fans probably would like. I don't think they want to risk a potential locker room problem.

I think you need to keep the chemistry together. I don't want them to break the bank either. I don't think he's the type that expects them to.

No but I think they will compensate him for his season. Personally, I want him back but not at a 4 year 48 million deal or anything like that. And for a team like the Colts who traded a 1st rounder for Trent Richardson, they've show how desperate they are in the past for a run game.......makes you wonder how much they would offer Demarco.

Romo should take a pay cut. he has enough money for 20 lifetimes

Romo should take a pay cut?

The guy who's played through a broken back, broken ribs, a punctured lung, and given everything he has to the team? A team, which until this season, hasn't surrounded him with the talent necessary to win?

No, he shouldn't take a pay cut.

I'm in the same boat. I thought the chances were slim 2 weeks ago. Now I think it's 70/30 he returns. Knowing how close all these guys are, players, coaches AND management, I think they find a way to get it done.

Yeah that's about where i'm at. About 70/30. A week ago I was at about a 30 to 70.

Same. And the more I think about it, I say PAY him... win now. What's the point of having a ton of money in the future on the off-chance we'll have a decent QB when Romo retires. It could happen; it couldn't. But what CAN happen is we can win now if we keep THIS team together and upgrade the D.

It's a mistake to pay big money to a RB. Spend that money on a defensive player we sorely need. If they're not sold on Randle, draft a guy. This draft is LOADED at RB.

Murray had a great year and I like him. But two things concern me:
1. This was the first time he played all 16 games, coincidentally in a contract year. Once he gets paid, will he go back to missing 4-6 games per year again?
2. The fumbles. Especially the one against GB. That contributed greatly to the loss and is unforgivable.

No, he shouldn't take a pay cut.

If he wants to win, yes he should. They were very talented in 2007, by the way.

Romo asked for an offensive line and we got him one. He got his huge contract, his net worth is 45 million dollars. He has more money than he can spend. He should make a decision, does he want to take a pay cut, and still make an inordinate amount of money for playing a game, thereby giving himself and team a better shot at winning a super bowl. Or does he want another few million dollars he can stuff under his mattress.

So yes, it is pretty obvious he should take a pay cut, its in the teams best interest.

I'd love to see teammates put their money where their mouth is.

Have a meeting, sit down, and discuss the finances.

And each player can decide how much salary and cap space they would like to contribute to keeping their teammate around.

Everybody knows there is only so much cap to go around, and it would be great to see guys chip in to keep key players and teammates around.

What else are the teammates supposed to say? I don't care much to keep Murray. Especially if it means us breaking the bank

I agree. I hear a lot of talk about them wanting Murray back, and Murray wanting to come back. Why cant Dez take a little less, Murray take a little less, Romo redo his deal to free up some space, etc. Cant Jerry make up the difference to guys with handshake deals for endorsements and appearances after they are done playing? Or is there a rule against that?

The way he carries the ball is a huge concern, even after the fumbles at the beggining of the year, he carried it the same way later on in the season.

it does say a lot. i cant remember so many players speaking up for support for support when signing another player.

and. I dont expect him to have the same year. he will need a 1200 plus I think if the cowboys are going to do anything....but not the 1800 yard year he had.

The yards, while important is secondary in this decision , imho.

Then we should send Bailey packing to. He's making nearly as much as Jerry's offer to Murray and he was quite shaky at the
end of the season. Dez could have just made the catch and been down to, his extra effort really killed our chances.
Would have been nice to have the defense step up to.
So many things cost us that game, sure Murray hurt us but so did all the other mistakes and mishaps.
