News: BTB: Four Full-Round Cowboys Mock Drafts: DallasCowboys.com Unveils Mock Draft Bonanza

The DallasCowboys.com staff published their first mock drafts of the year yesterday, and we get to vote on them.

A mere 20 days before the 2017 NFL Draft kicks off, DallasCowboys.com did what they do every year at this time and kicked off their mock draft season with a bang, as the mothership's four writers unveiled their first mock drafts simultaneously in a veritable mock draft bonanza.

What makes this particular set of mock drafts noteworthy is that they are not put together by some national writers who often show - at best - a marginal understanding of the Dallas Cowboys.

The DallasCowboys.com staff are as close to the team as it gets, and are much more in tune with the general fan consensus than any national writer can be. As a result, their mocks are much better than many of the mocks we regularly review here, and if nothing else, at least they don't have a tight end going to the Cowboys in any round of the four mocks.

Having said that, the same caveats apply to these mock drafts as they do to any other mock draft: as a predictor of what will actually happen at the end of the month, they are not very accurate. But don't take this as a knock on the DC.com guys, this is par for the course for mock drafts.

In addition to the four mock drafts, each writer also provides an analysis of his own mock draft, which you can read up on in the original article. But what that original article fails to do - for the fifth year running - is have its readers vote on which mock they like the best. The DC.com staff went all out in an effort to show four very different mocks: Takkarist McKinley is the only player to show up in more than one mock. Notice also that all four mocks have the Cowboys taking a DE and a CB in the first two rounds. Also noteworthy: Broaddus is the only one of the four to pick a corner in the first.
