Cooper Rush has officially earned a spot on the Dallas Cowboys 53-man roster.
Tony Romo once earned a spot on the Dallas Cowboys during a preseason game against the Oakland Raiders, and on Saturday that club gained a member. Jerry Jones announced after the Cowboys preseason victory over the Raiders that they will be retaining Cooper Rush.
Jerry Jones said the Cowboys won't be waving Cooper Rush. Not ready to say he's the backup QB yet though.

Jerry’s comments came in the immediate aftermath of quite the performance for Cooper. Rush went 12/13 for 115 yards and two touchdowns.
This is quite an achievement for an undrafted free agent quarterback from Central Michigan considering he’s trying to make a team that just cemented their franchise quarterback in Dak Prescott. Nevertheless, Cooper Rush can fully move in to his locker now.
What remains to be seen is exactly where Rush will be slotted on the 53-man roster. Will he be QB2? QB3? Will there even be enough quarterbacks on the roster to have a QB3?
All that we know at this moment is that Dak Prescott and Cooper Rush will be quarterbacks for the Dallas Cowboys in 2017. Kellen Moore could join them, or the Cowboys could finally part ways with him.
With the dress rehearsal in the books and Rush’s spot secure, it seems like Kellen Moore will have his chance when the Cowboys play the Houston Texans in the preseason finale.
