Jason Garrett, a hot commodity? That’s what Jerry Jones thinks.

If you remember the status of the Dallas Cowboys when they were falling towards their 3-5 record early on in the season, you remember all of the talk about Jason Garrett’s job.

There were (and likely remain) many Cowboys supporters who felt that a change was necessary atop the NFL’s most storied franchise. Lots of these people inched themselves closer to the other side of the spectrum, at the very least the middle, when the Cowboys won eight of their final nine games which included one in the postseason.

Jason Garrett is likely staying with the Cowboys, even if he hasn’t had talks with the Jones family regarding an extension. One of the Jones family members, Jerry himself, appeared on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday morning and had a little bit to say regarding his head coach.

Jerry Jones said that Jason Garrett would have had five offers to be a head coach had he been on the market two weeks ago. Five.

This sounds shocking, but actually is somewhat believable

Jason Garrett has been around the block. He has three division titles over the last five seasons, navigated the change from Tony Romo to Dak Prescott, and he’s coming off of a season where his team rallied for a valiant finish. NFL teams covet this sort of thing.

We’re in an era where teams want to pair their young quarterback with someone who they feel to be a bright mind that can take their signal caller to the next level. Consider that the New York Jets just hired Adam Gase right after the Miami Dolphins let him go, Gase’s supposed ability to develop quarterbacks is what got him the job. Garrett could have been in a similar boat (Jerry also joked on The Fan that he wanted a bigger boat, oh Jerry).

If you don’t buy that logic maybe the word of one of the NFL’s top insiders will convince you. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport... Jerry is correct.

Then let him go to one of those 5 teams. We're tired of Linehan and Garrett and their pathetic everydown te led offense. Fans want change. Theyre tired of watching scrub tes doing sqaut
