Jerry Jones took to the radio waves this morning for updates on the Cowboys.

Jerry Jones was on his regular radio show this morning and said he shouldn’t comment on the Ezekiel Elliott appeal, but then he did. The Dallas Morning News transcribes:

"Well, I don't want to make a comment and y'all can imagine with as much as we got flying around the court rooms and the basic hearing rooms, so that would be one that I'll pass on this morning," Jones said on 105.3 The Fan's Shan and RJ show [KRLD-FM]. "I'll have more news for you as we get into the week."

Jones has a habit of not being able to not talk about something and then talking about it, but he can also be cryptic in his comments that leave a lot of room for interpretation. Not much to glean from that comment.

He also commented on the possibility of getting a ruling on Zeke’s appeal today (Tuesday).

"Timing, as it turns out is a pretty critical component here in terms of the ambiguity, for the lack of a better word," Jones said. "There's a lot of things that impact availability [Sunday] with timing and most places, at the hearing and at the court level. I know I'm just being redundant with what you guys know, but when you really think hard about it, you don't know timing-wise.

"But a lot clears up over the next 24 to 36 hours."

Once again, Jerry says a lot without really clearing anything up.

On to more solid news, Jones said that Tyrone Crawford will be good to go for the opener against the Giants. After sitting out most of training camp with an injury to his ankle that at first looked much worse than it was, the presence of the veteran Crawford is a nice plus for the Cowboys defense. Jones also said that Chidobe Awuzie and Xavier Woods should also be ready to play, but wasn’t so sure about Jourdan Lewis.

At guard, he wasn’t sure if Chaz Green would be ready, but if he is he is the likely starter. Jonathan Cooper will man the spot if Green is unable to go.
