When and how to watch the 2017 NFL draft.

Our long national nightmare is almost over, the NFL draft is almost here. On Thursday night, the Dallas Cowboys will start adding talent to a team that went 13-3 last season. The draft will begin at 8 PM ET on Thursday night (April 27th) in Philadelphia, but it will be a while before the Cowboys are on the clock. The Cowboys will pick 28th in the first round, barring a trade, and that’s the payback for having a good season the year before.

As things stand right now, it appears the Cowboys are looking at either a defensive end to help the pass rush, or a defensive back to upgrade the secondary. Names like Taco Charlton, Takkarist McKinley and Charles Harris are commonly brought up as defensive end prospects that might be available when the Cowboys are on the board. At defensive back, you read about Kevin King, Gareon Conley (although his legal issue is a problem), Adoree’ Jackson, Tre’Davious White and more.

Then there is the possibility of a trade. The Cowboys have never shied away from moving around in the draft. The question is, would they go up if a player falls and gets into their range? They could also try to move out of the first round altogether if no one is tickling their fancy at pick #28.
