A quick tour of what the latest power rankings have to say about the Cowboys, and where they reank each team in the NFC East.
With records of 3-6 each, the Giants and Commanders are done for the season and can begin planning for the draft. The Commanders get what currently looks like the No. 7 overall pick in the draft this year, the Giants would get the 10th overall pick.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys and Eagles are tied for the second most wins in the league, and are headed for a showdown for their postseason berths as Matt Miller of Bleacher Report writes:
A home playoff game, and maybe home-field advantage, are on the line when Dallas meets Philadelphia on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas and then two weeks later in Philadelphia.
Below you'll find a rundown of the many power rankings published today and their take on where the Cowboys rank this week. A little further down you can see how that compares to the other NFC East teams.
This will be the last time we feature the Giants and Commanders in our weekly power rankings summary, as they both have become irrelevant in the NFC playoff race. Instead, starting next week, we'll look at where the key NFC playoff contenders rank in the various power rankings.
Opinion-based rankings
Week 11 Rankings (previous rankings in parenthesis)
CBSSports (Prisco): 5th (5th): "Tony Romo showed a lot of people how tough he is by playing against the Jaguars -- and playing well. Dallas has a bye now after London."
NFL.com: 5th (7th): "To be real here, a great game from a quarterback these days is typically of the 450-yard, five-touchdown variety ... or Russell Wilson rushing for 100 yards. Not for Tony Romo, who is leading a conservative offense that only asks that he make big plays when needed. Playing injured -- not playing hurt -- the Dallas quarterback completed over 70 percent of his passes Sunday with three scores and no turnovers. That's all you need, folks."
Foxsports.com: 5th (7th): "Tony Romo looked awesome in his return to action, but don’t discredit the return of the dominant offensive line that we missed over the last two games or the season-high four sacks that the defense strung together."
Bleeding Green Nation: 6th (5th): "While it was probably unwise to play Tony Romo against Jacksonville it didn't end up costing Dallas. The Cowboys handled business against a completely inferior team."
USA Today: 7th (6th): "They wisely gambled by starting Tony Romo and getting big win. They inexplicably gambled by playing him with 31-7 lead."
Newsday: 7th (6th): "Tony Romo returns from a back injury and revives the Dallas offense in a much-needed win over the Jaguars in London to stop a two-game losing streak."
Bleacher Report: 7th (7th): "Now the Cowboys get a week off to get healthy and rest before the final six-game run that will determine the NFC East champion. A home playoff game, and maybe home-field advantage, are on the line when Dallas meets Philadelphia on Thanksgiving Day in Dallas and then two weeks later in Philadelphia. No two games mean more to Dallas this season. Win those two and they're taking home the NFC East and looking at at least one home playoff game."
Shutdown Corner: 7th (7th): "A lot of people missed the point: Yes, the Cowboys were supposed to beat Jacksonville. Seeing Tony Romo look healthy and like himself is far more important to the rest of the season than the win itself. The opponent doesn't matter for that aspect of Sunday's game."
M-Live: 9th (10th): "Tony Romo looked strong in his return to the lineup, tossing three touchdown passes. The bye this week will give his back additional time to heal."
CBSSports (Kirwan): 7th (11th): "The Cowboys looked good in London, but they should look good against the Jaguars. Tony Romo is better and that should move the offense along. The defense is just average, but playing above their pay grade."
SB Nation: 9th (11th): "The Cowboys got a much-needed bounce-back win in London after losing two straight, and with a little help from Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, they can get their season back on track. Dallas had arguably the NFL's most impressive first half (outside of Arizona, anyway), so I wouldn't want to count the Cowboys out at this point. Their balance on the offensive side of the ball will be the key to their season -- if they can continue to run the ball with authority while grabbing explosive plays from Bryant, Jason Witten and other pass catchers, they'll be a contender down the stretch. They are also only a half-game behind the division-leading Eagles."
SI.com (Peter King): 9th (13th): "There wasn’t too much pressure on Tony Romo to play competently with two broken bones and screaming pain in his back Sunday at Wembley, was there?"
Washington Post: 11th (15th): "QB Tony Romo’s back seemed fine Sunday but there’s a lot of season left, and Romo must last for the Cowboys to have a chance to be one of the final NFC teams still standing at the end."

Beatgraphs: 9th. BeatGraphs provide rankings that cannot be defeated by a chain of A beat B beat C scenarios. In the end, when all ambiguity is removed, if A has beaten B, A will be ranked above B.
Aikman Efficiency Ratings: 10th (12th): This metric combines seven stats into one number: yards per rush, yards per pass play, turnovers per game, first downs per game, third-down percentage, points per game (unit on field) and points per red zone possession.
Numberfire: 12th (6th). These rankings are based on expected point differential against a league average team. If the team's rating is 10, they would be expected to win by 10 points against a league-average opponent. This week, the Cowboys would be expected to win by 3.8 points against such a league-average team.
Teamrankings.com: 14th (14th). This site measures the relative strength of all teams using team performance, home/away status, margin of victory and other factors.
