Who Will Be The New NFC Playoff Teams In 2014?

Every year, an average of six teams make the NFL playoffs that didn't make them the season before. Who are this year's NFC candidates to make the playoffs after sitting at home last January?

Earlier this week, we asked you which 2013 playoff teams you thought would not make it back to the playoffs in 2014, and the voting was pretty conclusive, at least for two teams: The Eagles (49%) and the Panthers (36%) were the popular favorites not to make it back to the postseason this year.

Which brings us to our question of the day: Which new teams do you expect to make the playoffs for the NFC this season?

As this is a Cowboys blog, I think it's fair to say that the vast majority of readers would vote for the Cowboys to make the playoffs this year, so I'm not putting the Cowboys up for a vote. That leaves the following nine teams as candidates to make the playoffs in 2014 after not making the playoffs in 2013:

Cardinals (10-6), Bears (8-8), Giants (7-9), Lions (7-9), Rams (7-9), Vikings (5-10-1), Buccaneers (4-12), Falcons (4-12), Commanders (3-13).

I created a poll which also includes the Boys. Pick as many as you like although historically 5-8 teams make the playoffs each year after missing the previous year.

Not so sure about the North or the West. Heck, I'm not sure about any of them although I'd bet big money one will make it out of that list. I realize that's going way out on a limb but someone's got to do it. :)

Thought about AZ. Just can't put any trust into Carson Palmer. That D will keep them close in that division.

A little bit of defense and it's time for us to take that step.

These were the I checked and voted for too.
Don't think the Rams or Cards have quite enough to sobplant Seahawks or 49ers yet.
falcons will bounce back, Bears can push to take over the Packers, and Lions just not enough yet.
Giants & Commanders, just don't see it.
Vikings & Buccs, need a few more years.

Panthers, Eagles, Packers are the teams that do not make it.

The Rams just drafted the best Offensive lineman and best defensive lineman from the same draft. They will make a strong case for themselves.

The 2 easiest choices are Dallas and Atlanta. After that all I see are longshots.

Those were my three too.
I thought about AZ and SL, but the schedule is rough.
My Dallas pick was a homer pick. it could happen, but the schedule is also brutal in theory.

I think the division is pretty pathetic, but the NFC seems like the superior conference, and I don't think it's all that close.

I think SEA, SF, and NO were all better teams than Denver last year. Much like in the early 90s, the real superbowl was the NFCCG.

But I think the biggest indicator is NE. NE made the conference championship, but I really believe the only playoff team they would've beaten last year from the NFC was GB... unless it was in GB.
