The Cowboys are starting to look at options in free agency.

When it became obvious that the Dallas Cowboys were going to move on from Cole Beasley many openly wondered what it would be like if he went to Green Bay to catch passes from Aaron Rodgers.

That would not be the case as Beasley ended up with the Buffalo Bills, but what about the thought of one of Rodgers’ former weapons replacing the void that Beasley is leaving? According to ESPN’s Todd Archer, that’s a possibility as Dallas is hosting free agent wide receiver Randall Cobb for a visit on Monday.

It’s been a minute since Cobb was the dynamic play-making wide receiver of the Packers offense, this is set to be his ninth year in the NFL. He hasn’t played a full 16-game season since 2015 and was only part of nine games last year in Green Bay. If you’re thinking about one word, you’re probably right as far as the Cowboys go. He’s likely discounted.

We saw Dallas test the free agency waters a year ago when they signed Allen Hurns, but they had to hedge that bet during the season by trading for Amari Cooper. The Cowboys could still look at the draft as a way of adding help for the slot position. But if the Cowboys land Cobb it could allow them to kick their slot receiver needs in the annual selection period down the road for another year so that they could address other positions.
