I also don't expect Murray to be back but then we are not rolling with Williams as the starter but will sign someone like AP or draft someone high

JMO

I hope not but you may be right unfortunately. Negates the whole reason in using 1st rd picks on the OL. Randle looks good behind this thing.

Without question.

There is a night and day difference in how Joseph Randle looks carrying the football this year compared to last.

I am astonished at how good Randle has ran this year. Last year he ran like Grandpa McCoy. This year he runs like the Road Runner. Beep! Beep! I don't know what happened, but I like it.

maybe I dont understand PS, I didn't realize you could say .No! would someone verify that?

When a player is initially cut from the roster after training camp or during the season, they have to pass through waivers and any team can claim them. If they clear waivers (nobody claimed them) then they are free agents. They basically remain free agent when signed to a practice squad.

i have no idea why they haven't, but in my opinion i think Murray is done for the season, I also think he will attempt to play get hit on the hand and re-injure it some more.

It can't be injured any further

The issue withvwilliams is that he is poor at pass protection.

Read somewhere that that is why he is on practice squad and also why zona let him go.

Perhaps he is working on this on PS and will be able to play next year.

A RB that can't pick up blitz won't start for this team.

Exactly.

All players on practice squads have cleared waivers by going unclaimed and are free agents.

They are eligible to sign on the regular roster of any NFL team, their current practice squad team has no recourse to stop them

Players often prefer to remain with their current team, so they will sometimes be given the chance to sign the player or increase his salary to stay on the practice squad.

The only restriction on these players is they can't sign directly to another team's practice squad.

Their team would have to release them from their practice squad contract first.

It's an interesting story about Ryan Williams -- didn't realize he'd turned down 10 teams that wanted to steal him from the practice squad. He must be putting all his hopes in the basket that says he'll be next in line to replace DeMarco Murray if and when he isn't resigned in 2015. If so, methinks he'd better learn to block better if he actually expects to step up and become the Cowboys' starter anytime in the future. Simply put, it's really a big deal.

First, let me remind everyone about the depth chart. Murray's backup is Dunbar, not Randle. Randle is the change of pace back. If Murray doesn't play, it is Dunbar, not Randle that will take his snaps.

Second, Williams isn't on the 53 man roster because at the end of training camp he was evaluated that he can't block and can't play ST. Maybe those things have been fixed during his time on the PS. He is a better runner than Dunbar so it is not out of the realm of possibility that he could make the 53 next year.

Third, Babe has been known to stretch the truth a time or two. I seriously doubt Williams has turned down 10 team's 53 man roster. I can see it more in reason if it were just AZ because of his bad history with them and maybe a couple of really bad teams.

Clearly we do not have all the facts or context for this story and as of late the zone loves to speculate on too little facts. We have enough going on that this is a non story.

if he was that good, he would have randle's spot. he isnt. and i wish people would quit thinking we are keeping a better player on the PS and letting a 2nd and 3rd stringer that are worse have actual playing time. thats ludicrous.

not only that...he is more similar to Randle than Murray. Dallas will need to find a physical runner in off-season to offset losing murray. We have enough RB who have some pop but aren't known for picking up blitz.

He's seen the monster year DM29 is having. He knows there is a strong possibility we can't re-sign him. He also knows we have a young studly OL that most teams don't have. Finally, (potentially) his only competition would be Randle, who was never a full-time RB.

I think with a strong camp he can supplant Randle - if DM29 is gone. He probably feels the same.

That's stupid, especially with his injury history. He could blow out his knee tomorrow. He needs to think about himself, imo. Hope in one hand, you know what in the other.
