Pick 256 is a season-long contest in which BTB members and readers get to pick the straight-up winners for all games each week, and today we're kicking off the fun!

Hey BTB community,

For the second straight year, we'll be running a pick 'em contest for all of our readers, both the readers who have signed up and the readers who have not signed up.

Here is how this thing is going to work:

Pick 256 is a season-long contest in which BTB members and readers get to pick the straight-up winners for all games each week. Each week we'll provide an online entry form for BTB readers to input their picks. The entry form will usually be posted on BTB on Tuesdays, along with a summary of the previous week's winners, and (when we remember) we'll post reminders on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

BTB member Hookerhome will publish a FanPost during the course of the week detailing the results for all participants.

Submissions have to be in by kickoff time of the first game of the week, usually the Thursday Night game. To keep a level playing field for everybody, late submissions will not be accepted (all entries are time-stamped). This gives you a two to three day window for your pick submission.

Because we are really late with this kickoff post this year, the deadline to submit picks is extended all the way Sunday, 1 pm EST, and all participants will be awarded one point for the Steelers/Patriots game, regardless of the outcome.

Important Technical Stuff

The entry form looks as follows:

The form contains all games of the particular week, with the home team always listed as the second choice. You have to pick a winner for each game, or you will not be able to submit the form.

The checkboxes allow you to pick one of the two teams for the win. This is a straight-up challenge, we are not picking against the spread.

Submit only one pick sheet per person, and make sure you include your (correctly spelled) BTB user name. What's the use of competing for bragging rights if nobody knows who you are?

Editing Your Picks

Once you've successfully entered your picks and have pressed 'Submit' at the bottom of the entry form, you'll be taken to a 'Thank You' page like the one below.

You can click 'Edit your response,' to edit your input immediately.

Or you could simply submit new picks, which is probably a lot easier than editing the picks. Simply re-submit your picks, and when there are multiple picks by the same BTB member, our pick tracker will always default to the latest entry.

With all of the technical stuff out of the way, good luck with your picks. Now proceed directly to the entry form:

Week 1 Picks

Click on the link below and you'll be taken directly to the Pick 256 entry form where you can select the teams you like for the win.

The link above should auto-fill your BTB user name into the entry form (in most cases). In some cases, the link hasn't worked properly, so here's an alternative link that works without the auto-fill - just remember to spell your username correctly.

Alternative Pick 256 Entry Form

If you prefer not to use your BTB user name, or are not a BTB member, go ahead and enter a name of your choosing, but try to stick with that name throughout the season.
