Not sure I saw this one coming.
The latest from Todd Archer according to his sources is that the Cowboys have an interest in former Cleveland Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden. The QB was drafted in the first-round by the Browns in 2012 and played in 23 games for them over two years. He threw an almost equal number of TDs (23) as INTs (26) but could never get the Browns going.
The Cowboys still aren't 100% positive that Kyle Orton is going to play this year so they may be looking at Weeden as an alternative plan if Orton does walk away. I doubt they would carry Tony Romo, Orton and Weeden on the roster so this may be an indication they are looking for a change or they have an idea about Orton's intentions.
They won't be grooming Weeden as the quarterback of the future given his less-than-stellar play so far in the NFL and the fact that he's 30-years-old (turning 31 in October). He got a late start to his football career while playing professional baseball.
