The Cowboys use their second seventh-round pick on WR Noah Brown.

The Cowboys have decided that wide receiver was a need in the draft as they pick their second one on the third day. The Cowboys selected WR Noah Brown out of Ohio State with the pick they got from the Patriots.

NFL.com says:

SOURCES TELL US "Remember, he's still young in the game. He's basically got one year under his belt so what you are seeing now is definitely an unfinished product. You're going to have to do a lot of projecting with him and that's not going to be easy." - AFC national scout

NFL COMPARISON Vince Mayle

BOTTOM LINE Brown is a big, physical possession receiver who could need additional time and coaching to accelerate the learning curve he faces due to his inexperience. While he doesn't appear to possess great vertical speed, his body control and ball tracking could tilt the odds in his favor when challenging for the 50/50 balls. If he can improve his route running and contested catches, Brown should become an NFL backup with a chance to work into a more predominant role.
Cowboys Needs:

Defensive line/edge rusher: The Cowboys have needed help here for years, ever since the departure of DeMarcus Ware. DE Taco Charlton

Cornerback: The Cowboys lost Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne in free agency. They still have three corners who can play, in Orlando Scandrick, Nolan Carroll and Anthony Brown, but they need depth, and a possible upgrade. CB Chidobe Awuzie, CB Jourdan Lewis, CB Marquez White

Safety: Starter Barry Church and sometime-starter/reserve J.J. Wilcox both exited in free agency, leaving the Cowboys with Byron Jones and question marks. Jeff Heath is currently the other starter, but a high pick int he draft could become the starter at the position. S Xavier Woods

Right Tackle: Doug Free is retiring, and Chaz Green has yet to show he can stay healthy. Free agent signee Byron Bell is a stop-gap, the Cowboys need to find the future at the position.
