It was not exactly all rainbows and unicorns. But lots of food.
The Dallas Cowboys took Taco Charlton with the 28th pick of the first round of the NFL Draft - and the reactions on Twitter made it clear that a lot of people would rather have gone another direction, like EDGE T.J. Watt or cornerback Kevin King.
We'll have to agree to disagree, but it should've been Watt

This team stays terrible at evaluating edge rushers

Well, that’s kinda how it goes with the Cowboys’ fan base. But there were some other, more positive (or in some cases, just less negative) reactions.
Trust the process. Trust McClay. Trust Marinelli... pic.twitter.com/9AMBg1b2QX

Cowboys first round pick Taco Charlton was All-Big Ten this season and had 9.5 sacks for the Wolverines. @NBCDFW

No, he's MUCH more athletic than Jack https://t.co/qHJG8UGpiD

@DraftCowboys Wait so you wanted a edge who could play all 3 downs but you are mad about taco being the pick ? I don't understand.
— Dexter Harris (@dexterharris28) April 28, 2017
Taco Charlton seems good edge fit for Rod Marinelli defense that created QB pressure at third-worst rate in NFL.

Not convinced by Taco - more because I see him as a LDE (which they don't need) than talent-wise. Will obviously him my full support though.

Like it or not (I don't) Taco is a Cowboy now. Gonna support him 100% and root for him like crazy. He deserves a shot to prove us wrong. pic.twitter.com/WREiIJdx6s

#Cowboys take SDE 6'6" 277 lb Taco Charlton BUT WAIT .. Dude has 1st step quick/twitch that has NEVER been exploited #MarinelliGold
— Steven Van Over (@StevenVanOver) April 28, 2017
I feel like the #Cowboys did the right thing to go with a position of need, but I would have gone with T.J. Watt over Taco Charlton.

I do remember vehemently defending Taco to some of you before Takk stole my heart.
So I’m not nearly as upset as most are right now.

But with a name like Taco, there was a lot of room for humor, too.

But we’ll leave the last word to the sage, One Cool Customer, with some data analysis that may shed a little light on why this was the pick for Dallas.
Taco Charlton is an A-quadrant player.https://t.co/TeeZJwRQH0
