This is the power-I formation, one that is run by high schools across the country. And here Dallas ran an inside isolation, one of the most elemental runs in football, at any level.

Words that best describe Garrett's coaching level, "High School" and "Elemental.":lmao2:

Couldn't resist..:D

Those who make those assertions about Garrett really don't know much about football in my opinion. If by some stretch of the imagination Wade is not back next year, I would take Garrett without batting an eye.

I'd say tap the breaks there.

Garrett made some very solid adjustments, especially with the screens and draws but these adjustments have not occurred regularly this year.

But beyond that even if Garrett was a great coordinator there's no reason to assume he'd be a better head coach then Wade or Norv Turner. In fact all this Garrett praise aside it is clear which side of the ball is playing the best: our defense.

The core issue with naming Garrett is this is not the place to get your first head coaching gig. The media is relentless and Garrett would be beaten up just as bad if not worse than Wade.

If Jerry makes a move this off-season I think it will be to a proven guy. If he really likes Garrett as his future HC I bet he waits another year.

You make some valid points but in my opinion Red is a lot more fiery then Nov or Wade. Also, his demeanor seems very suited for being a head coach. Norv not so much.

A second look at the Tivo/DVR...

Seriously. People go overboard with the Vela love. I enjoy his articles at times, but the guy is simply rewatching the game on his DVR. He has no "gamefilm." He's as much of an insider as you or I.

Bingo!

Enough of these "cheese doodle eating" wannabe coordinators who think they know more than Garrett-- and then come here and whine about him.

What a boring way to be a fan. Never criticize anything anyone in the organization does. They must know better than all fans, right? Booooring.

And let's not forget his wastefulness when it came to Felix and Choice early in the year. Also, when Romo went down his handpicked backups were unable to produce squat. Are both of these evidence of him not being able to spot talent?

Garrett may have the characteristics and qualities you want in a head coach, but needs more seasoning. I'll agree with Jimmy on this, he's not ready.

I wish more from BSPN would follow suit. We get half A reports from less than half a viewing of the game. Still he's not flawless...

Jason Garrett got it done on Sunday. He made the adjustments. It was two gambling coaches going head to head, and Garrett won, again. I give him a ton of credit for bouncing back after a tough Pittsburgh game for the offense and Romo.

However, I agree with Jimmy Johnson. Garrett isn't ready to be the head coach. I think he has plenty of responsibility right now. He's the assistant head coach and runs the offense. In my opinion, Garrett needs to be checked some of the time. Plus, Wade Phillips is holding some mighty powerful cards with his defense. They are playing lights out. You have a good thing going right there. Don't blow it by firing him.

It is Garrett's gambling nature that gets him in trouble at times. When you are having protection issues against a four man rush, like in Arizona, you don't keep holding the ball and looking down the field. Giving Marion Barber 8 carries and Felix Jones 0 was a mistake in the first Washington game. Felix Jones could have established the edges on the ground in the first Washington game. That could have been the difference.

While I think Garrett has done a very good job as offensive coordinator, he sure can be held accountable for some of the offensive turn overs. Romo is his responsibility, and Garrett can protect him with his coaching, game plans, and play calling. I loved the Green Bay and second Washington game plans. Those slants were good calls. Romo was just rusty. Those plays were there.

The decision to throw on your own 6 yard line after the protection issues was a big risk. The snap count was messed up, but it was a risky call against that defense. Romo almost got killed, and he saved a TD and probably the game, by knocking the ball out of bounds. The tuck rule saved Romo, in the endzone, at Arizona. The Eagles fell on a TD after a sack in the endzone when Romo was throwing out of his own endzone. That came after a INT on the Cowboys side of the field that helped the Eagles score.

So, while I still like Garrett. I do see legit criticisms of his job performance. I've been vocal about it. Some of you are probably sick of it, but oh, well.

I don't care who catches the ball. I just want Romo and the game protected by managing the game when it is time to do so. That will eliminate many of costly the turnovers.

Although, I would like to see Roy Williams involved more.
