The Cowboys have come up with a unique way to help those in need after Hurricane Harvey

As the tragedy in Houston and surrounding areas continues to unfold, efforts are in motion to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Plenty of athletes and celebrities have stepped up with donations, and many Dallas Cowboys players have also contributed. Guys like Ezekiel Elliott, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten have made monetary contributions. Players like Orlando Scandrick and Kavon Frazier have also helped out in creative ways.

Now, the whole Cowboys organization will do something special tonight that everyone can participate in.

[The Cowboys] will hold a practice at AT&T Stadium that will coincide with a live telethon in which star players like Dak Prescott, Jason Witten and Dez Bryant will work the phones, taking pledges to raise money for the Salvation Army's relief efforts.

The practice will be televised live on local channels (KTVT) and will stream live on the Cowboys Facebook and Periscope sites, from 7 - 8:30 PM ET/ 6 - 7:30 CT. So Cowboys fans can watch the practice, they can call in on the phone (844-790-5687) to make pledges and interact with current and former Cowboys during the telethon.

The Cowboys already raised $100,000 during a telethon that was held on Tuesday night. They are also making a sizable donation of apparel to the Salvation Army worth roughly half a million dollars.

Jason Garrett:

"Our guys are incredible," Garrett said. "They really are. I'm so inspired by our football players. The character they have and what they do for our football team, for their families and in the community, I'm not so sure people fully understand this, but pro football players get one day off a week all season long, and a number of guys on our team, and really on teams all through the league, go out to schools, get involved in different efforts week in and week out. It's just kind of what they do. It's what they're about. Again, I'm inspired by them. It doesn't surprise me one bit, and we're going to try to continue to help as we go forward.”

So check out the 90-minute practice tonight, and if you are in a financial position to do so, call in and donate.
