Cowboys have the best shot of going from worst to first in their division - Adam Stites, SBNation.com
Going from last to first isn't uncommon in the NFL and the Cowboys are primed to continue that tradition, Stites explains.

Getting Romo back in 2016 is an obvious boost and the reason why the Cowboys are still a force to be reckoned with, but his health isn't the only thing the team has going for it. Dez Bryant is back from injury too, and the offense will rely less on Romo after Dallas drafted Ezekiel Elliott to handle the bulk of the rushing duties.

I bet you won't comment on any of this.

You know who you are and you should be embarrassed about how childish you acted.
Now face it. We are a very good team. Now.

I get really pumped upped going into TC and the season with the offense and what they can be able to do.

Not so much with the defense, especially with the suspensions, injury to Collins missing most, if not all of TC. Really need to hope some players step up. Rod really needs to work some magic on this.
But if they can get through the 1st four games, then it's much better. Even without McClain for the next 6 games, if he is still on the team.

With Scandrick back, and Byron Jones having one position to focus on, Mo continues his solid play from last yer, and Carr can finally earn his paycheck. This can allow the young inexperienced DL to get a better pass rush than last year. T. Crawford will be healthy too, and with the addition of Thornton, this can allow who ever plays MLB to do their job better too.

So yes, I am down on the defense right now. Much more than usual. But TC is 26 days away. So we will see what and who develops and steps up.

The first game with Gints will tell a lotmabout this team,
Giants D is improved on Paper a lot , offense hav added more weapons , our O is much improved too which can probably offset the defense improvements, but our D ,with the suspensions if look much more of the same , will be a huge factor.

So no predictions until the ball gets rolling the right way

Like the San Francisco opening game in 2014 showed a lot about that team?

I'm not trying to be a smart *** but it never is real good to put too much stock into a single game... Win or lose.

That SF game made it look like Romo was going to be horrible and the team wouldn't win more than a few games.

Difference is it's a division game. We have to start out strong if we want to win the NFC East.

Well, we could lose the opener and still win the division... But yes, it would be best to win it.

The flip side is just because we win the opener doesn't mean we have the division won.

Ultimately, it is just one game.

I doubt it. Week one is the most fickle week.

It is, but beating the Giants with the suspensions would bode well for our chances going forward. If they can't beat us without our 2 starting defensive ends it will help our confidence and raise doubts about their improvements.

If Romo is healthy all year, this team can work around the deficiencies on D and easily win the East. The post season is a different story in hiding the D, but Law/Gregory will be back and think Gregory will be fine (next off season is a different story, etc.) w/a healthy Crawford @ 3 tech. Thornton will help hide Hitchens/Lee/unknown and push the pocket to assist the ends in the pass rush on early downs. This is mostly just potential talk outside of Lee/Thornton/Lawrence/Crawford(ish) admittedly.

We may want to be more aggressive through the air through the first 4 games for the ? at the two ends, though I like Irving @ LE too. I just don't like restructuring of Carr over another mid tier FA CB, but understand retaining Church considering the disappointment w/Wilcox.

Giants defense was worst in the league last year. Eli and OBJ have never beaten Romo.

I think they took some small steps back towards an average D though. I don't see a repeat of that on that side of the ball. Romo will need our defense to get a few takeaways to make it something other than the 30-27 type games we should be used to playing them at.

Not Cruz. Maybe Shepard instead. They better have a plan to get in Mannings face somehow or he will go pitch and catch. The game will likely be a track meet.

They're worse at every position group on offense as well unless Cruz returns to form.
