BUCS’ PHILLIPS OUT FOR SEASON, BROOKS HURT TOO
Posted by Michael David Smith on December 15, 2008, 1:01 p.m.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have lost one defensive starter for the season, and they’re concerned about the status of another.
PewterReport.com reports that Bucs coach Jon Gruden said today that strong safety Jermaine Phillips suffered a fractured forearm and is out for the season. Phillips started 11 games this season for the Bucs; the three he missed were for another forearm injury.
Gruden also said weakside linebacker Derrick Brooks suffered a rib injury on Sunday and is “very questionable” for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. Gruden described Brooks’ injury as “very concerning.”
Brooks has never missed a game in his 14-year NFL career.
Just something to watch for. Maybe TB starts falling.
