No, we don't want him.

The Bucs have just released receiver David Boston. According to a Bucs news release, the Bucs reached an injury settlement with him. In addition, Tampa Bay has resigned receiver Mark Jones.

Pinellas Park police recently said the receiver was under the influence of the date-rape drug GHB when he was found asleep at the wheel of his sport utility vehicle last month. Toxicology reports revealed that Boston had 870 micrograms per milliliter of GHB in his urine when he was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor DUI on Aug. 23.

Boston intially told police that laboratory analysts would find no illegal substances in his urine. He also issued a statement proclaiming his innocence in the matter after the results came back.

Bucs general manager Bruce Allen, who on Aug. 25 issued an emphatic statement saying the team had investigated the charges against Boston and had found no “objective evidence to support” them, issued another statement this Monday.

“We are taking the allegations in [Monday’s] report released by the Pinellas Park Police Department very seriously and we will continue to review all information as it becomes available,” Allen said. “We will reserve further comment until all the facts surrounding the investigation are complete.”

Allen is going to speak with the media today at 12:30 p.m.

If he was found asleep behind the wheel how can they make a DIU stick. I wouldn't in Texas but maybe the laws are differnet in Florida.

In Indiana, if the occupant is asleep in the drivers seat and the keys are in the ignition, its enough probable cause for the OWI charge.

Its easier to stick the charge if the car is running.

I've always thought that was a bad law to be able to prosecute somebody for sleeping in thier car while drunk.

Somebody makes a good decision not to drive if they have had too much.....so if they go to sleep there we punish him?

Stupid law.

I say sign him

No, just kidding!
There were Boston supporters in Texas during that 1999 draft
he went ninth in the first round.

But, it seems he was injured every year. Never fulfilled his promise except for one pro bowl year.

His sister, I heard is a lawyer, and she has certainly made a good living for Boston. Now I am hearing he got an injury settlement after that recent arrest.

She must be a verrrrrry good lawyer.:D
