If the ends of the stadium are open how will there be no wind factor?

kicking with the jetstream...I imagine the wind would flow pretty heavily from one endzone to the other like a tunnel.

I think he and the team would be very upset at him only doing 30%. I'd say anything less than 50% and he's underperforming.

Embedded for you.

He out-repped 27 OL at the combine.....

And I'm pretty sure he also ran a faster 40 than all the other USC LBs who came out this year in the Draft.

He's definitely not your ordinary kicker.

80% IN THE NEW STADIUM...

I really hoped somebody would've pointed that out before now.

The football in College is bigger then the football in the NFL. So, would a fatter football travel farther then a smaller football, or vice-a-versa?

Also, why don't the college game use the same football as the NFL?

That's because those other kickers aren't named David Beuhler.

In college, don't kickers kick-off using a taller tee? If so, wouldn't that make a big difference?

TIA!

From what I can tell (via google), both NCAA and NFL use 1" kicking tees.

What about velocity of the size of the ball?

For some reason I read this and in my head I hear this.

1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Where'd you get the coconuts?
King Arthur: We found them.
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Found them? In Mercia? The coconut's tropical!
King Arthur: What do you mean?
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Well, this is a temperate zone
King Arthur: The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land?
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
King Arthur: Not at all. They could be carried.
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: What? A swallow carrying a coconut?
King Arthur: It could grip it by the husk!
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.
King Arthur: Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here?
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
King Arthur: Please!
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Am I right?

I've heard the big difference is that the nfl ball is harder than the college ball and you can lose some yardage on the kicks because of that. But Bueller is saying that without the wind being a factor that he can kick farther and more consistently. Even so 80% does sound pie in the sky.

Well, I sure hope he's right. Or even close.

Ahhhhh! No more kicks targeted towards a sideline.

A 50% average would be fantastic!...80% average would be sick HOF, (you just can't keep me out Peter King...period!), have to change the rules, move ball back 10 yards crazy type of stuff.

As a team, let's hope we get tons of kickoffs too. :)

Not so concern with the exact % of his kicks that go for touch backs. I'm more concerned with the % of his kicks which make it close to the goal line and how many reach or are fielded in the end zone.

If he's getting nearly 100% of his kicks to the goal line and perhaps 75% of those are actually fielded in the end zone, I'll be thrilled.

Now of course this is all assuming he's getting decent hang time.
