Also, why don't the college game use the same football as the NFL?

Wow. Interesting info.SaltwaterServr;2778042 said:http://profootball.scout.com/2/826978.html
Carolina's guy set it this past season. 30 of 88 attempts, 34.1%. The article doesn't clarify if the record is for total #'s or for percentage.
A quote from the article:
7. Unless you're a Panthers fan, you may not be aware of the impact that kicker Rhys Lloyd could have on the outcome of the playoffs.
Lloyd, who only had three games of NFL experience prior to his 16-game stint with Carolina this year, is the team's kickoff specialist, so don't beat yourself up too badly if you're not all that familiar with his work.
But the 26-year-old kicker, who was born in Dover, England, broke the NFL record for touchbacks since the league started using the K-ball back in 1999. Lloyd's 30 touchbacks out of 88 attempts helped boost the Carolina special teams kickoff coverage from 19th-place last year to 3rd in the league this year.

1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Where'd you get the coconuts?
King Arthur: We found them.
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Found them? In Mercia? The coconut's tropical!
King Arthur: What do you mean?
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Well, this is a temperate zone
King Arthur: The swallow may fly south with the sun or the house martin or the plover may seek warmer climes in winter, yet these are not strangers to our land?
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?
King Arthur: Not at all. They could be carried.
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: What? A swallow carrying a coconut?
King Arthur: It could grip it by the husk!
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: It's not a question of where he grips it! It's a simple question of weight ratios! A five ounce bird could not carry a one pound coconut.
King Arthur: Well, it doesn't matter. Will you go and tell your master that Arthur from the Court of Camelot is here?
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Listen. In order to maintain air-speed velocity, a swallow needs to beat its wings forty-three times every second, right?
King Arthur: Please!
1st soldier with a keen interest in birds: Am I right?
Hostile;2777535 said:I understand why they did it, but I hate it. If it helps the team (as Folk clearly did) I will try not to gripe too loudly (as I don't about Folk). But I can't say I am excited to carry two Kickers. Like I said though, I do understand it.

What a great point. I'm surprised more people don't feel this way.MCowboys;2778025 said:Even if he only gets 20% touchbacks, he still won't be bad to have around. Nick Folk is a great kicker, but he is awful on kickoffs. He had more kicks out of bounds than anyone and was the only kicker with more than 20 kickoffs with no touchbacks. We could have used a kicking specialist last year. There is no way that a good kick off guy is not more valuable than whoever the 45th man dressing last year was.
