There's some assumptions being made and they're just assumptions they think that a lot of these interviews might be for Jim given he can't do it right now maybe he gave them a list start the process and maybe they already decided to hire Jim Leonard maybe it's mutual kind of like we all knew but nobody will let go of the idea that Ben Johnson made up his mind long before he interviewed anywhere else that he was going to the Bears the Bears knew it he knew it and he was going nowhere else but the Bears but people keep insisting that he could have been interviewed with Dallas 'cause he would have came here for sure if he just would have been have given a blank check...

. That was never true.. he and mike Vrabel were only going one place.. Everything that happened with other rumors and interviews that offseason was just window dressing it was a done deal it just was never made official until it was..

So just maybe and again I'm just a wild guess maybe they already made up their mind behind the scenes the deal's already basically done and now they're doing his footwork to establish What kind of staff he can pull together...

hopefully Leonard's interest is high as the FANS want his interest to be, TE Cowboys we shall see how high exactly it is. Hopefully we're not let down
 
The real question is why would any established DC worth his salt want to take over the leagues worst defensive roster?

I wont be surprised if its another Schottenheimer type situation where its a lower level coach, like a DB coach, agreeing to take the job because its his only offer to move up to a higher level

Harbaugh is going to have a great opportunity to poach some of the best prospects available and he will act quickly. The Giants finally got smart to the Cowboys demise. Meanwhile, Jerry is interviewing training room guys for the DC position.

If Roseman or Sneed was the GM a DC would certainly leverage this because they know the GM would get then the help they need.......but of course those GMs would never have let the defensive roster deteriorate to this degree.

The entire league knows how Jerry has addressed the defense through free agency

I'm just relaying a thought, its hypothetical,

I have no idea, it could be be a rumor,

I didn't say I was high on Jim,

I just hope whoever they pick is the best for the job,

that's it ,

I like the younger names, But the delay because these coaches are in the playoffs is A problem especially now that the first new head coach hiring has dropped, they're going to start picking these assistants to be on their staff...

so maybe the Cowboys get ahead of it, I don't know, like I said it's just a gut feeling, that maybe the moves all seem to be tied to Jim, maybe it's something that's already been at least handshake, You know like a Contract and principal maybe has been discussed.

We just went through this with Parsons with the whole verbal commitment thing and that fell apart so who knows I don't I don't know...

BTW, I'm not going to be let down if we don't get the guy, I just hope that they what interviewed at least 6 people already, or is it 9?

Maybe this wide net is a good thing ,

but it's going to start tightening up now and the clock is going to start running now that Harbaugh is hired in New York, I mean does he go and get his whole staff from the Ravens?? I mean does Orr go with him?

But there is no guarantee whoever they hire is going to be successful but anything's gotta be better than last year or really the last two years or three out of the last five years with the DC's being failures But some of this feels like maybe they've already decided to hire a JIM, and they're just trying to now see who's available to build his staff out..

Just like the overreactions to Harbaugh going to the New York Giants somehow they're now they're going to be the team to be in the NFC not just the NFC East they're already bragging about how it's going to change the landscape of the NFC East before he coaches one game..

The stuff can be draining listen to people overreact the things and I just want a coach that fits this roster and that's gonna be here about 3 seasons minimum i'm tired of the carousel that is the only reason I don't really want Brian Flores anymore because I don't believe he's gonna stay around very long and I don't want anyone that still wants to be a head coach be my DC so I hope they dip into this younger outside the box group whoever it is can establish something here with Schottenheimer and at least have two to three more seasons to actually build something things don't happen overnight it's being built that's important and that can't always be done in one off season..

along with 2 first round picks. the middle is arguably best in the league, and can be built around fairly easily. high draft capital helps a ton.
