LeSean McCoy, a running back for the Philadelphia Eagles, reportedly left a 20 cent tip after chowing down at PYT—a Philly burger restaurant known for outrageous combinations.
McCoy treated four friends to a meal, but according to server Rob Knelly, who spoke to the Philadelphia Daily News, they were “extremely rude.”

“That is a .03% tip,” PYT reported to its Facebook following. “New record!”
According to an image posted on PYT’s Facebook page, the total for the bill came to $61.56. But the receipt shows that after the meal was paid for, a mere 20 cents was left as a tip.

People that live in new jersey tell me that PYT automatically includes a 20% tip on the bill and that they have horrible service. This is shady.

Edit...I didn't not intentionally do that.

Not real, there is a guy on the Commanders board that has the exact receipt with Sean Connery's name instead of McCoy. And yes, living up here, I can vouch for the crap service at that place. I went there twice. First time was bad enough, but I gave the place a second chance. The second time, the waiter said I was getting my food last because I had my Staubach jersey on. I complained to the owner and he didn't care.

The owner of the place released a video yesterday and said the staff were more than accommodating to McCoy as they were all big fans. He said the food was fresh and served quickly and that they don't add 20% to the bill. He said McCoy was rude and abusive from the start and felt the need to release the receipt to stand up for his staff.

I'm in the food service business and there is no excuse for not leaving a decent tip when the service is adequate. If you don't believe in tipping, don't eat out or get your food delivered. For a millionaire to do it shows what type of guy he is, an Eagle.

Why don't you look up the reviews on yelp. There are people claiming, they served him at other restaurants, and he tips well. I think this is over blown. It is a burger joint, not a 4 star restaurant. If you suck at your job, you deserve a tip like this.

I've only not tipped 2 times, once was at a Buffalo Wild Wings, where the waitress didn't put my order in, but put everyone but mine in, and at a similar join, where the waiter messed my order up, and didn't check on us for 15min.

And every other comment is about how he tips well, and other people complaining about that places service/staff.

And if you truly think being on the Eagles team controls how a person acts...you may take football too seriously. lol...

What server would give bad service to a millionaire, hometown athlete? I believe the owner when he says they were all excited to have McCoy eat there and were terribly disappointed by his rude behavior and tip. A 20 cent tip is going out of your way to be a jerk. If the service was really bad, tell the manager or leave a 0 tip and tell the server straight up why they stunk.

It's just ridiculous that McCoy didn't leave a few dollars on a 60+ tab for the server, even if she wasn't that good tbh. There could be several reasons for poor service, including a busy kitchen, unruly customers, demanding customers, understaffing (an american institution in just about any workplace in this economy). What would it have hurt McCoy to leave $10.00 and a note saying why it wasn't more if he felt it was that bad.

I agree. Maybe he thought the whole meal should be free and took it out on the server. Either way it's not a big deal, but if he was a jerk, I'm glad they called him out on it.

Who knows? But, when there are many reviews on Yelp, that other server, say he tips well, I have to believe that. Go look at the reviews, I did, this morning.

I can imagine a lot of Eagle fans are just defending their guy. I have seen the lengths fans will go to around here to always defend a Cowboy. The 20 cent tip speaks for itself.

From what I understand...

Most NFL players are poor tippers and rude.

NBA guys are the opposite.

Floyd Mayweather is an outstanding tipper.

What he should have done is ask for the manager if he was unhappy with the service. Right then.

Now it's just another "he said" story & he ends up looking like a jerk.

I bet he never thought they'd post all that .

Tipping is voluntary. It used to be considered a reward for OUTSTANDING service. Now tipping is expected, even for poor service. This nation has become a nation of entitlement. 50 years ago no one would have wanted everyone to know they got stiffed on a tip because that would imply that poor service was given. Now it is just the opposite. Waiters/Waitresses generally fight to serve my table because I tip well, but I am also ready, willing and able to refuse to tip, on occasion, in my sole discretion if the server sucks, is rude or otherwise unsatisfactory.

As a side note, the owner who is "standing up for his wait staff" is actually passing on the bill to the customer for services performed by his wait staff FOR HIS/HER own benefit, not the customer.

It is not voluntary.

Waitstaff are paid miserably per hour. You go to a restaurant, you need to tip. 15% minimum no matter how bad the service. You are taking the server's time. You need to pay for it. Give them more if the service is good but never less.
