Romo doesn't seem to have a problem finding Beasley in the slot.

Well you know we don't have Romo and hate that we have a reciever that is so reliant on Tony and Dez.

Even Terrance who is clearly not a number one made some plays and Beasley gave us zilch.

I dont like Whitehead at all. Kid is quick but not fast. So he always seems to make something happen but in the end does nothing.

I dont understand why he is still on the roster and whats more even dressed for the game.

Why is he on the roster? Because the kid is clearly a play maker. We finally saw the coaches use him right and we saw what Lucky could do. He doesn't need to be fast and he's not slow or anything. On those reverses just follow your blockers and cut it back when necessary and get the first down like Lucky did.

Let's be careful now. His speed is special. But he's very likely a very limited player due to his size and lack of experience running routes

Well he's already better than T-Will at catching the ball.

A plus for me.

What i liked about yesterday's horrible loss was that we actually do have some talent at the WR spot, Whitehead & Butler looked great yesterday and even Street made a big time td catch. Now it's up to Linehan to put these players in a position to win because the talent is there.

And he has less muffed punts than Beasley:laugh:

I don't agree. Williams is good although we could have a better two. Not having a better QB makes them all look less than normal. But if Butler continues to improve we'll have a couple of decent 2s or decent 2-3s.

I agree and I'd like to see Terrance in the slot. Tired of seeing Beasley get taken out of games because his lack of size. He's too limited. Get Terrance on some underneath drags. Beasley is the fourth reciever when we go spread. Dez and Butler give you two deep threats and I like what I saw today. Showed good hands, toughness, crisp route running, and make a tough catch in congestion and didn't allow himself to be taken out of a play via press.

Slot WRs get taken out of the game regardless of size. They are the 3rd WR and are off the field in 2 WR sets.

Wouldn't mind seeing Butler as #2 and Whitehead in slot when Dez returns. With their speed it would open big things up for these two.

I'd like to see Butler play more before calling for TWill's job. But I will agree that Butler passes the eyeball test for me. He's got great size and speed. Supposedly, he's an inconsistent player though and that's why Oakland traded him, but if he keeps this up, then maybe he has turned the corner in his development. That would definitely be nice since I don't see a future with TWill right now.

As for Whitehead, I don't see anything right now. He's not as good as Dwayne Harris, and Harris was never our number 3. Harris is playing well though as a number 3 for NY while they wait for Cruz.

Im confused. We've had a 4 year rebuilding of the roster because it was in such pitiful shape that it was nothing short of miraculous that Garrett could get this team to 8-8 for 3 seasons in a row during the rebuild and now we need to take a WR we got off of the Oakland Raiders trash heap and make him our #2?

What am I missing?

Whitehead and Butler have speed we lack in this offense, they need to get them deep down the ******* field!

I guess you're missing the fact that the Cowboys have struggled developing weapons in the passing game lately. If this continues, I'm going to guess the Cowboys draft a WR pretty high next year.

Guys don't get taken out because of their lack of size. Guys get taken out for two reasons. 1) Not enough talent, or 2) not used correctly. Tell the Pats WR's that they are too small. Or try the same with Steve Smith, Antonio Brown, Wes Welker, etc etc. I think BeeZ has the tools, we just don't use him the right way.

Horrible comparison. Brown may be undersized, but he has a far better overall skill set. He's one of the faster players in the league and a home run threat. Has great hands. Strong in the upper body and excellent after the catch. Can catch in traffic. Beasley can't do any of those things. Steve Smith in his prime was an elite reciever because of similar attributes that Beasley doesn't possess. Wes Welker greatly benefited from playing with Moss, Thomas, and Gronk.

All of that's true, but when we can't hit our slot on one underneath pass, something is wrong. Especially when Tony made him useful almost every game.
