me personally ..i would turn the keys over to butler..

i'm growing weary of spencer.

i want spencer to be the player we saw the last half of 2009.....but will we?

so far this year i see the same old inconsistent play.

hopefully he shows something against minny....but if he does not would you agree it's time for butler?

I think they will both see good playing time no matter who starts.

Butler will beat out Spencer by week three or four.

Spencer is a fine player for us, I'm looking for him to have a big year under Ryan's new defense.

Umenyiora? ;)

Spencer. Spencer is the better football player. DeMarcus Ware would make Lawrence Taylor look average on the opposite side of him.

that would be nice.

hopefully ryan can make him quit biting on play action...

Please tell me you weren't being serious with that last sentence. So LT would look average if he wasn't the one being doubled and schemed against?

I was curious on why we didnt see much of Butler on the field against SD.

He was on the field a lot. Maybe you should be curious about why you didn't see him do much.

BOTH. They are two totally different players that should each be used to their strengths.

wow cummings is playing ball!!

just found out he is native american.

and he suffers from diabetes.

pretty interesting story there.

It's not just about rushing the passer... Especially in the OLB spot that Spencer plays.

I love me some Ware, but LT was the most dominant, disruptive defensive player I've ever seen.

As for Spencer, his work against the run gets overlooked but a starting OLB in a 3-4 has to be able to get to the QB. He can't just be a run defender. It limits your defense. If he can't do that and Butler can't defend the run then the Cowboys will need to find a new OLB in the offseason.

I think you will see Butler playing a lot of pure passing downs because he can get to the QB and frankly Spencer does not. But spencer is very solid against the run and does other things well so he will remain the starter.
