Carolina - 9 catches, 107 yards, 11.9 avg, 28 long, 0 TD
Washington - 7 catches, 76 yards, 10.9 avg, 20 long, 1 TD

16 catches, 183 yards and 1 TD.

Before Romo:

Jacksonville - 6 catches, 80 yards, 13.3 avg, 21 long, 1 TD
Washington - 3 catches, 19 yards, 6.3 avg, 12 long, 0 TD
Tennessee - 5 catches, 88 yards, 17.6 avg, 46 long, 0 TD
Philadelphia - 3 catches, 45 yards, 15 avg, 24 long, 0 TD
Houston - 5 catches, 45 yards, 9.0 avg, 21 long, 3 TD
Giants - 6 catches, 98 yards, 16.3 avg, 31 long 1 TD

38 catches, 375 yards, 5 TD.

All players drop the ball occassionally. They even drop the game winner.

People were actually suggesting we should have kept Keyshawn during the Carolina game.

Up until he dropped a game changing pass.

T.O. has baggage.

But he also is producing.

Half way through the season he is at:

54 catches, 558 yards, 6 TD.

Third-down Tony is finding him on crucial 3rd down plays.

He's a head case. But he is producing.

You're correct TD3.

BTW are you going to give Romo some props? You were pretty tough on the move as I recall. But so far he's looking head & shoulders above the other guy.

He has produced, there is not questioning that.

However let's be realistic.

He has had trouble with dropped balls even before he came to play with Dallas.

The thing that hurts the most with him in dallas is that two dropped balls have come in CRITICAL times.

The 4th down catch he would have converted to perhaps put us back in the game.

This time which was a sure fire TD that would have broke the skins back by putting us up two scores.

He's been a good receiver. No doubt. I'd trade an awful lot of those stats (which came in not so important time i.e. Jax and Houston) for just two more extremely important receptions.

But I have been mostly happy with him. He has been targeted on 72 passes, tho. So, 38 catches.....needs a little perspective.

Michael - he has played superbly thus far. I want to see this consistently for the remainder of the season before I completely agree he is the man.

But from what he has shown so far, he cwertainly is buiklding a strong case for himself.

The ball to Crayton yesterday was one of the best passes I have seen this season from any Cowboy. He put it right where it had to be on the sidelines.

I sat up and took notice after that play.

I'm not jumping the bandwagon yet. But if he can keep up this type of play and enthusiasm, then he will certainly win me over.

Frankly, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. Because how can you have kept this player on the sidelines all this time?

I trust professional coaches to understand and know their product. So Parcells knows something here.

I hope he was mistaken and this is the next Roger.

I wonder, I just wonder, what the Cowboys record would have been had Romo started the season?

What about all the catches he had that came back cause of penalties on Witten and Glenn? Shouldnt we be falming those 2 guys also? Get off blaming 1 guy for our problems. Its a team game.

It was a great move for our team next year. We'll continue to fight probably making it to 9-7, but next year T.O. and Romo will probably be the most dynamic duo in pro football. We have cap room, we have the majority of our picks, lets go pick up a big time free safety, and some quality depth for our O-Line. Oh yeah, lets get a new defensive coordinator that doesn't dial up the SAME EXACT blitz packages everytime. I'm only 19 and played backup QB in high school, but his schemes are very easy to pick up. (Even though the 3-4 was supposed to be the most confusing scheme to block against) ;)

Look I'm not a TO fan, I'm a Cowboy fan but to blame TO for the loss is absurd. If he catches the long play in the 3rd Quarter and the 2 dropped passes in the endzone in previous games; he would be the league leader in rec TDs.

He has 44 recpt for 558 yds and tied for 2nd in Tds (rec).

But all the yds and plays he has done that get called back on penalties by the offense.

I wish people quit trying to point at one person for the loss and focus on the team as a whole.People said the QB was to blame, yet the change is made and we still lose. Romo played great yet we still lose. This problem is not one player but since its easier to blame the devil..Why not.

First with offense, the Oline has picked it up yet we still get stupid false starts.

2nd the defense has been difficult to watch. Worst part you have the coaches verbally fighting on the sidelines.

3rd the STs have been a thorn in this team and Sunday was no different.

Not one player caused this loss but a collective effort by the team. They can't win the close ones.

 100% right on. It's so typical in this day and age to point the finger to one thing a lay the blame. Wins are team wins and losses are team losses. We should have made the play at the end but if we make a myriad of other plays we would have never been in that position. However, if ifs and buts were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry Christmas. Simply, we have to play better as a team.

Those stats are wrong. I'm not sure about the catches and yards, but one of the TDs for Owens against the Texans was from Romo as well as the TD against the Giants. So 3 of his 6 TDs were thrown by Romo.

But, I knew what you were trying to say. However, I disagree completely. So what his numbers aren't terrible. He's on pace for 108-1116-12 for the season. I could care less. He's making $10 million this year. He needs to catch that 4th and 2. That play changes the game. He needs to catch that bomb from Romo. He scores easily or at worst puts us in range to put some points on the board. We would have been up 14. If I'm gonna have to sit there and watch a vet make rookie mistakes, put one out there. I have no problem with watching Sam Hurd or Miles Austin out there.

I know that sounds ridiculous. But, I had the same mindset with Romo over Bledsoe. If a vet, whose potential is capped, is going to make the same mistakes of a young guy, with potential, then let the young guy play. Let the team go through bumps together as a young squad. It builds chemistry and character. Why were we so successful in the early 90's? The team grew up together. They helped each other. They had chemistry. They were a team.

You don't see Terry Glenn dropping that pass. Romo switched to TO instead of Glenn. (Which is what got Bledsoe in trouble in the first place) I don't see a big change or more production. Glenn has better hands.

Do not forget Romo would have had more yards if he did not miss Glenn on the long play in the 1st half. Remember he overthrew Glenn when he dove for the ball.

Well Owens did not single handedly lose the game for us yesterday, but what irks me the most is you drop that pass after that ridiculous end zone celebration. Now I know they didn't score after getting the extra 15 yards, but I have to wonder if Owens is too busy coming up w/his TD celebration on that dropped ball to concentrate on the actual catch to get the TD.

Bingo!

He dropped an 'easy' TD. Big deal. It wsn't the first pass he dropped and it won't be the last.

I don't like seeing any player pilloried for what is part and parcel of the game-drops.

But agreed, as Owens himself admits he 'lost concentration" that it's quite possible that that selfish, onistic brain of his was whirling with 'ideas' re his next celebration.

And yes, he HAS 'produced here' - more so stat-wise than the guy he replaced. What needs to be calculated, but as yet cannot be, is what Jimmy Johnson pointed out yesterday post-game..the culminative effect of 'distraction'.

I do believe the complete KJ 'package', taking into consideration his leadership and contributions to team cohesion, was superior to what Owens has overall contributed this year.
