Todd Archer, ESPN Staff Writer
A quick observation of Dallas Cowboys first-round pick Byron Jones and how he has played through three weeks of training camp:
Jones was well on his way to earning a big thumbs-up for his work in the early part of training camp but he did not play against the San Francisco 49ers because of a shoulder injury sustained in practice after a collision with fellow cornerback Morris Claiborne.
The good news for Jones is that the surgically repaired left shoulder checked out fine under further examinations. Now he just needs to get back on the field, which could happen as early as Tuesday.
The Cowboys have put a lot on Jones’ plate. He has played outside cornerback. He has played in the slot. He has played in the dime defense. He has played safety. Before getting hurt, he didn’t show any signs of being overwhelmed by the numerous job titles they have given him...
