NE didn't need a CB as bad as we did. Plus, literally everyone in the universe including martians knows Marinelli wouldn't want a 1-Tech in the 1st round.

Meanwhile in 2010, NE drafted athletic CB/FS hybrid Devin McCourty at pick #27, coincidentally.

But whatever. NE only drafts 1-Techs in the 1st, which is why they're successful or something.

We don't get draft picks forever. 4-5 years tops. We got 4 out of Claiborne.

Malcolm Brown fits the 1-tech in RM's scheme. He'd be off the field in the nickel - 75-80% of the time. That's not exactly a wasted pick, but it's close. He'll play NT for the Patriots. He'll be an every-down player in their 3/4 scheme.
