Byron Jones. We are misusing him

He was atrocious today. And watching SNF, Im having flashbacks of Aaron Rodgers to Jared Cook... I honestly don't believe he is a S. He takes terrible angles and is a poor tackler. We tried to fit a square peg into a round hole. I think we are misusing him. We ought to use his athleticism as a zone CB, not a S... We need two new S's IMO.

Well this is year three so he is pretty much what he is going to be. An average NFL DB who doesnt make make plays and got drafted two or three rounds early. Moral to the story: Draft by what is on tape, not a combine workout. Freak athletes dont always turn into great football players.

he needs to move back to corner probably will not be until next year. also being "involved" in TDs if your defensive back is not a thing.

This year he HAS TO become a good football player to make that 1st round pick worth it.

Byron Jones simply isn't that great, and we should have never had him rotating positions early on in his career. The FO simply got greedy and looked at his 'measurables' and figured they could mold him into an awesome football player. they couldn't. Some games he plays quite well, but in key games, he is always on the receiving end of huge plays like touchdowns.

Those are the same reasons Jimmy Johnson took Russel Maryland in the early 90's after Rocket Ismael ran for Canada.

I'll say it again, what did scouts see in him on game film to believe as a Cornerback from Connecticut he would be worth a 1st rd pick only to be moved to Safety????
