Why did he retire so young? Bad winds in Chicago? Injury? He just turned 34 last month and has a kicking camp in Louisiana- he's gotta be as good as some of the trash out there kicking today. Just wondering why he isn't around somewhere anymore.

He said he lost all power in his legs. Started when he moved to Philly and went down hill from there. I doubt if he can make consisent 40 yarders now.

Wow, that's sad- wonder what happened? Philly water?

He never had that strong of a leg to begin with while in Dallas. He was 15 of 22 past 40 yards in Dallas. That includes 1 of 3 from past 50. He then just fell apart going 11 of 28 past 40 yards after he left Dallas, which included 1 of 3 from past 50.

That's true- he never boomed them here, just very accurate inside the 40. He also went to Philly and Chicago- both hard to kick stadiums. Wonder what Eddie Murray's doing these days? Lin Elliott? Ken Willis? I've got to get my early 90s fix on.

Lin Elliott was horrible. Fortunately when he played Dallas could actually score TDs. He missed an extra point in the Superbowl. I know a bartender that used to work in Waco. Told me Elliott would come in hitting on chicks showing off his SB ring.

How could lin elliott suck -- wasn't he a student of the great Steve Hoffman? I thought Hoffman's absence was the reason for our awful kicking situation.

Hoffman kept scrubs like Elliott in the game. Imagine what Hoffman could do with a decent kicker. He has had to work with garbage in Dallas. It certainly would not have hurt to have Hoffman for this season. I am not saying he was absolutely necessary to the Cowboys kicking game. I also don't believe he was a non-factor in this season's kicking woes. It is somewhere in the middle, just like every topic on this forumn. I think his contributions were just a wee bit underappreciated. Especially if Parcells wasn't going to go out and find a well respected kicker.

Heck for that matter, I wonder what George Blanda is doing these days? :)
