Calling my shot: This team finishes 11-5 and makes it at least to the NFC Title

A couple reasons for this prediction:

1: Pittsburgh's offense has been abysmal at times and they have one of the worst pass blocking lines in the league. Our pass rush is the most devastating in the league right now. If our offense can out up 17-24 points, we have a great shot to win.

2: New York may have the division and conference wrapped up when we play them. If so, we could win this game simply due to lack of motivation on their part.

3: Philly will be done when we play them. That team barely has any heart as it is. We should roll them.

4: Our likely wild card matchups, Arizona or GB/Chicago/Minnesota are far inferior to us talent wise and we might very well be the favorite even on the road. Arizona just got dogstomped by a team on the brink of disaster.

5: We get one playoff win and this team's confidence goes through the roof. Imagine this level of talent playing like they KNOW they will win? Scary.

6: We can stop the run as well as anyone and our pass rush is playing lights out. That can win you a lot of postseason games.

7: Tony Romo

8: DeMarcus Ware

9: Tony Romo

Remember we were saying the EXACT same things at this time the last 3 years. We thought we had ALL the marbles going into Dec, only for TSTHTF.

I understand everything you're saying, but I'm not holding my breath for now.

BTW-the only assessment I'm in agreement with you is the Philly one-dunno if we'll beat them in wk17, but this definitely ain't '06 or any other previous year where they rose to the occassion out of nowhere and played lights out in the final stretch. Don't let their pounding of the Cards tonight fool you.

I don't know.

My heart tells me that we CAN go 12-4....but my head is still saying 10-6.

I think it's too little too late.

We would've been better off had Folk missed the 53 yard FG in AZ to send it to OT.

This team had peaked at/before Thanksgiving the last 3 years. This team hasnt even touched it's peak yet, and they seem to be getting better every snap. Our defense also wasnt playing with this type of urgency and emotion.

I think it's a bit to early to say it's too little too late IMO. So much can happen in the next five weeks. If Washington loses on Sunday, we could find ourselves as the 6th seed come 4:00 that afternoon. Beating Pittsburgh and/or New York will go along way to establish some momentum. We must go at least 1-1 in these next two games.

I'll make it three. Especially with Holland in there, I believe we're on the verge of a serious roll.

Jamie Dukes was just predicting us to finish 2-2, but he said we'd be the steelers and ravens.

IMO if we DO finish 2-2, the 2 wins would have to be vs the Giants and Eagles for us to make the playoffs. So IMO the Giants and Eagles games are must wins, and I think we'll beat either the Ravens or Steelers (probably the ravens game).

IMO if we finish 10-6 we don't make the playoffs cuz of tie breakers with other 10-6 teams unless we beat the Giants and Eagles. We need to improve our division and conference record.

So is he saying the Eagles are going to run the tables? I DO expect them to play spoiler for the remainder of the season-but this isn't the same team, despite their impressive showing last night, that rallied late in the '06 and other seasons under Reid.

BTW-the Ravens game ain't no cakewalk either. Their offense isn't scary, largely b/c they have a rookie QB, but their defense IS. Rex Ryan is really a creative genious.

I love your optimisium, but you have to remember a few things....

1. Giants - THEY HATE THE COWBOYS.... the fact that they might get the chance to ruin our playoff chances is motivation enough for them.

2. Eagels - Again, by the final week they might be on the outside looking in regardless of the out come of that game, but again.... a playoff spoiler is enough motivation for the iggles.

3. We don't control our destiny when it comes to the playoffs. We can win out the rest of the season, and still miss. We need other teams to stumble in December in order for us to talk playoffs.

I think this week-to-week mentallity that we have right now is the way we make the playoffs.

I agree, and this is what gives me some cautious hope looking into the crystal ball this December.

Still, it's December, which typically means it's time to worry. It's hard to forget the past, and I'm definitely in prove-it mode.

I am with you 100% here.

This team faced some injury and probably a little bit of press clipping induced adversity but it is really playing well right now.

And I think that's what we needed. A push to play with some intensity and urgency that teams always seem to muster up versus us. Well now we have it and it isn't gonna fade away playing our December schedule.

I'd also suggest 11-5 and a playoff run.

I don't think you can count on 'they wont show up' cause they clinched playoffs or cause they are eliminated. The giants and eagles would love to beat us and spoil our playoff chances. The giants would love to eliminate us before the dance and the Eagles hate us so bad.

Baltimore's HC is John Harbaugh, who was Reid's ST/secondary coach in Philly.

Just saying...

Show me the scenario where we go 12-4 and miss the playoffs. Please, I'm waiting.

The NFC is a much tougher conference now than in year's past. Look at the NFCS-that division could easily send 3 teams to the playoffs each with 11-5 records. Ditto our division, of course.

Yeah-I agree that 12-4 is all but a lock, but 10-6 itself won't be a guarantee.

The NFC South could send three 11-5 teams, but it'll Atlanta and Craolina's schedule is pretty tough and they're not as talented as we are.

In fact, I'd bet Carolina and Atlanta lose this weekend.
