Calling out 5 players on defense

The defense is poor and there is no magic potion - make no mistake about it. However, our supposed big-time players need to step up and make key plays to kill drives. That's the difference between giving up 34 points in a half to GB and giving up 24-27 points over an entire game - even with an overall poor defense.

1. Ware - Diversify your attack. Stop running 7 yds outside of the play on every down. Can you make a couple of stops on running downs behind the LOS on 1st and 2nd down? Is it too much to ask for a 2-3 sack game against essentially a rookie QB and an injured Trent Williams?

2. Hatcher - Similar to Ware. Need some run stuffs on 1st and 2nd down. If not sacks, need you to at least flush the QB out of the pocket on passing downs against a poor interior Redksins OL.

3. & 4. Carr and Scandrick - Garcon is a very good WR but this is overall a mediocre group of wideouts. Need to stick to these guys and force Cousins to make tough throws in tight windows. A pick or two would not hurt.

5.Carter - This guy is physically capable of bailing out the LB corps. Need him to just play fast and physical. If he is not a factor, the LB corps will be completely exposed and dominated by the Skins running game. We're catching a break now that Jordan Reed is out. So the passing threat at TE shouldn't be as much of a threat.

Those 5 guys must step up and have good games. While guys like Heath, Hayden, Selvie, Lawrence etc.. are easy targets, we have to be realistic. These are backups at best. These types are only effective in an expanded role when the supposed big $ players do their part, which hasn't been the case very often on defense.

I'd say especially Ware and Hatcher........what they can get done has a ripple effect on the back 7.

Carr, scandrick, lee and church should be the only players from this years defensive roster on next years defensive roster!

If the front 4 can't get any pressure at all in this scheme, everyone behind them is going to suffer. And make no mistake about it, our front 4 has not been getting pressure, period.

We need to blitz more. We're getting tore up anyway, may as well bring some heat more often.

What the bleep is up with Claiborne, and why do they not ask questions about it (and other things) during the red headed idiots press conferances ! Is it a torn hamstring ? Why is he still not out, and I saw in the injury report - he rulled HIMSELF out this week !!! The reporters always ask soft, stupid questions - it drives me batty ! " What sort of running style do you this Morris (Commander) has" Who cares, ask about our players, our gameplan etc.
Garrett said, with having the fullback in the last couple of weeks, they have run for "7,8,9 yards a carry, so it has helped" Why would no-one say anything about the last 2 press conferances, after the bears and after last week. Where the red headed idiot has twice now said, " we got away from the run, looking back yeah. We will watch film and get that cleaned up and be better" Crucify his ***, do not let him off the hook ! Hey Jason, you gonna stick with the run this week ? Smug piece of Bleep, bleep, bleep.

I am so sick of seeing Ware play first and second down, do nothing, and then stand on the sidelines on third down. If his play has dropped off so much that some guy off the street is getting the prime pass rushing down, it really may be time to cut him loose.

Interesting that the top 2 names on your list are players most fans want to see gone next year.

The problem is those five guys are prolly the only guys who would get playing time on any other team.

Even with their questionable play of late, you can't make up for the lack of talent and/or experience of the other guys on the field.

Claiborne was initially missing time due to the injured hamstring, however his father passed away and his daughter was born all within the span of a week or 2, which delayed his rehab.

Sometimes getting right mentally is just as important as getting right physically.

yes! he is not just overpayed. He has sunk below replacement level. Let the axe fall. Ware sucks ...not to be happy about it but he has sucked every game this season
