Cam Newton Released

The same reason Bill got rid of him is the same reason we shouldn’t sign him.

He’s too big of a NFL star to have on as a backup and media will always be questioning if he should start any chance they get.

He has to go somewhere and be a starter or he’s finished.

The best move for Cam is to sit out and wait for an injury or just flat out retire.
True, I agree. He would be awesome if he accepted his role and the reality he's not a superstar anymore. But that's unlikely and every bad game we have the calls for Cam would be annoying.

And entertaining

You don't like his fashion? LOL

Wow!! Pam Newton :muttley:

I think there are multiple teams that could use Cam as a starter. Give Cam a good supporting cast and I think he'll do fine. Denver for example. Indy when Wentz goes out for the rest of the season. Pittsburgh after this season. That's probably about it.

All the backup to Dak talk is funny. Yall really suck at this stuff. Let me back up Dak when I can prob start on a bunch of other teams or atleast challenge the starter. He wont challenge a damn thing in Dallas lol

The problem with Cam is and only he’ll know if he can accept this… he’d be an AWESOME backup to have, but he seems like the type of guy, “If I ain’t starting, I ain’t departing”

So only he knows if he’s willing to actually be a backup or if he will just sit out until a starter gets hurt.

No thanks

From the way he dresses and the way he types on social media he's a bonafide diva

I think Jerry and Co like the fact that the only competition to Dak is someone like Cooper Rush. Which is NO competition to Dak.

They're not going to bring in a QB that can compete and put pressure on anyone. There's no way they would ever play Newton over Dak, and the competition would be good for Dak, but Jerry and Co are all about making it as easy as possible for their guys.
Lol, I like it when you think things.
You have a certain slant.
And you rarely deviate till you have to deviate.

And you've had to deviate quite a bit on things this off-season.

It's fun to watch.

I'm not against it if he has a genuine chance at the starting job. Being the guy who has been saying that dynasties are built through quarterback competition, it wouldn't be a bad move. Cam also is not so old that championship success is beyond him. It would require a turnaround, though.

The only good backup quarterbacks are guys who are barely good enough for the league or guys who are going to challenge your starter. Anything in between (Dalton) is not worth it.

The Saints? Tayson Hill isn't the guy and Winston is a turnover machine.

It’s like saying you want Tim Tebow or Kaepernick as a backup.

It sounds nice but the media will just question if they should be starting at any little bit of adversity.

The smart move is to stay away from these types unless you’re desperate at the starter position.
