WOW Factor. Is this it? Can Chad and TO co-exist? What do you guys think of bringing Ocho-Cinco to the big D?

Chad Johnson could've climbed on the coffee table on the middle of the Best Damn Sports Show Period set tonight and yelled at the top of his lungs "Trade me to to Dallas!!!"
And he really wouldn't have been much more clear than he was in batting his eyes in the direction of Valley Ranch.
"If I end up in Dallas, I would just look at which finger I'm gonna put it on," Johnson declared. "That's it. Ain't no ifs, ands or buts about it."
Several Cowboys Blog Crazies tipped me off to Ocho Cinco's performance on BDSSP tonight, and because we get it a little later here in DFW, I had to wait to watch it. "It" was worth every last second. Classic.
I'll pass along this link, but that only includes part of the interview. What should really get people around here going isn't included in that clip. It's the statement above, and how he said that he and Terrell Owens would co-exist on the same team.
"It's gonna work," Johnson said. "T.J. (Houshmandzadeh) and Chad Johnson are no different than '81' and '85' because T.J. is a No. 1 receiver. We just happen to be two No. 1 receivers on the same team at the same time. It's no different."
Ocho Cinco even went as far as to stick up for T.O. when the FSN people rolled the Original 81's emotional outburst after the Cowboys' playoff loss.
"You know what's funny? Y'all don't have my clip," he said. "I'm crying about losing. We played Jacksonville, Sunday night, we're 4-0. I'm mad because we're 4-1. I was mad. I was the same way."
And as for the atmosphere if '81' and '85' were paired, Johnson didn't mince words. Nor did he seem to be off the mark.
"That'd be a circus," he said.
Of course, all the Cowboys stuff was just a piece of the fun with this sitdown.
Another clip they played was of Johnson's prodding Brett Favre to toss one to him in pregame. What did '85' say to the Packer QB?
"Just throw me the ball," he said. "I just want you to know what it's like to throw to greatness. That's what I told him. It's funny, some people call me arrogant. I just think I'm extraordinary. "
On a more serious note, Johnson did address the situation from the 2005 playoff game against Pittsburgh, and alleged punch he threw at a coach at halftime.
"That's not what happened," he insisted. "There was an incident. Man, I was pissed off. I was mad. I'm in the biggest game of my career, I got one catch, y'all are not using me. I'm pissed off. I'm emotional. You know how I am about the game.
"So I'm in there going off. And I have an IV in my arm, and I get up screaming, I'm mad. Carson's hurt, he's on the table, knee's gone. I'm not getting ball, and I'm going off, I'm screaming. And (receivers coach) Hugh Jackson restrains me. He put me in a headlock. So I couldn't move. Coach (Marvin) Lewis comes over, talks to me, restrains me also. That's where it ended.
"Yeah, something happened, I'm not going to sit here and lie. But that was it. Now, (former Bengal) Shaun (Smith) comes back with me throwing the punch. Man, if threw the punch, I wouldn't have no problem if I wanted to get out of Cincinnati, because I wouldn't be there right now. I'll truth, no one's bigger than no organization. Not even Chad Johnson, trust me."
Even in trying to clear "the punch" up, he vowed not to worry about what other people thought about that, or any other incident in his past.
Which is to say, Johnson claims he's stopped caring what other people think.
"Some people may not like Chad Johnson," he said. "Some people maybe do. But it really doesn't matter. When I touch that field, I'm just like insurance, you can count on me."

Let me qualify the following by saying I'm a big Ocho fan and I'd LOVE to have him in Dallas.

But, with that out of the way, let me say that I don't believe, for one moment, that there is even a remote shot he'll wind up in Dallas.

#1: The Bengals have shown exactly ZERO interest, thus far, in trading him and have gone so far as to say, more than once, that he's not going to be traded.

#2: Salary reasons. Now, while his signing bonus means ziltch to us (Cincy would have to eat that on their cap) that doesn't help us get him any easier. Cincy is not likely to eat a 8 or so million dollar cap hit, this offseason, in order to trade Chad just cause he wants to be traded.

#3: Can you just imagine the media circus (As if it's not already one anyway) in Dallas if you had Chad and T.O. in one locker room? I'm not as worried about others that they'd get along, I think they'd do just fine in the pursuit of a ring, but those two would have so much stuff for media to turn into front page news it would be ridiculas.

Chad Johnson is not as bad as some of you guys think.

He talks the talk but he walks the walk.

If you don't understand his humor then you most likely dont like him.

I gotta disagree.

He does everything you could want at receiver.

Hes not in the Owens - Moss league but he is definetely in that 2nd tier.

Great route runner and is not affraid to run any route.

I do think that is one of the best quotes I've ever read (And heard) from an athlete. That is good stuff.

Actually he's a great receiver. That just gets lost in some of his antics.

STINKO WANTS TO BE A COWBOY
Posted by Mike Florio on March 20, 2008, 8:57 a.m.

We’re having trouble keeping up with the antics of Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Johnson, and even more trouble caring. But the situation remains newsworthy, because Johnson is one of the most physically talented receivers in the NFL. And because he seems to be interested in playing for any team the one that currently owns his rights.

Most recently, Ocho Stinko appeared on FSN’s Best Muther-F–kin’ Sports Show, Period (we know it’s not the real title, but oh how we wish it were), and he talked about possibly playing for the Dallas Cowboys.

“If I end up in Dallas, I would just look at which finger I’m gonna put it on,” Johnson said, via Albert Breer of the Dallas Morning News. “That’s it. Ain’t no ifs, ands or buts about it.”

But what about the fact that Terrell Owens is already the top wideout on the team?

“It’s gonna work,” Johnson said. “T.J. [Houshmandzadeh] and Chad Johnson are no different than ‘81′ and ‘85′ because T.J. is a No. 1 receiver. We just happen to be two No. 1 receivers on the same team at the same time. It’s no different.”

Here’s another reason why we think it would work — Drew Rosenhaus represents Owens and Johnson. So if there were a way to get Stinko to Dallas, Rosenhaus would do everything in his power to ensure that there would be no friction between two of the biggest egos in all of pro sports.

Meanwhile, Johnson again addressed the infamous January 2006 halftime locker-room incident, which was resurrected two weeks ago when a video surfaced of former Bengals defensive tackle Shaun Smith saying that Johnson punched coach Marvin Lewis in the eye.

Our initial report on the matter, from the day after the incident, included a mention that Johnson at one point had receivers coach Hue Jackson in a headlock. Johnson now claims that Jackson had him in a headlock.

The common theme from Johnson and Jackson is that Johnson was being restrained. We’ve never known for sure, however, precisely what or whom Johnson was being restrained from.

Anyway, the real issue going forward is what will happen with Johnson. From the moment Johnson launched his campaign to get out of Cincinnati, it’s been made clear to us that the Bengals will not let him have his way.

Assuming, then, that Johnson is too cheap to pay back bonus money and/or to incur the fines that would accrue if he boycotts mandatory minicamps and/or training camp, there likely will be another T.O.-style drama come July and August.

Johnson simply can’t control his emotions. He’ll be half-hearted (not to be confused with “hoof hearted“) and lackadaisical in practice. When pressed to get his butt in gear, he’ll eventually blow his stack. At some point, he’ll be suspended without pay for conduct detrimental to the team. Grievances will be filed. Hearings will be held. It will be a freaking circus.

And we can’t wait to watch it all unfold.

Are you joking?

"07" 1,440 yards 8 TD's
"06" 1,369 yards 7 TD's
"05" 1,432 yards 9 TD's
"04" 1,274 yards 9 TD's
"03" 1,355 yards 10 TD's
"02" 1,166 yards 5 TD's
"01" 329 yards 1 TD

I think he is as good as he thinks... Better then Glenn, Crayton, Stanback, Hurd and Austin. Sure as heck better then any WR in the draft.

Funny you say that, Chad's and T.O.s numbers are remarkably similar. T.O. had some that were better and Chad had some that were better.

Bengals sucked last year and he still pulled down great numbers. Like I said, all those great numbers get lost in his attitude and the overall team performance.

93 receptions, 1440 yards, a 15.5 yard average, and 8 TDs. Third in the league in yardage behind only Wayne and Moss.

Yeah, clearly, he was didn't show it last year.

Now don't get me wrong, I love T.O., but the idea that Johnson isn't in his league is very, very, very off to me.

Let's take a look at career stats here.

T.O.

12 Seasons
882 career receptions
13,070 career yards
14.8 yard per catch average
129 Touchdowns

Ocho

7 NFL Seasons
559 career receptions
8,365 career yards
15.0 yard per catch average
49 TDs

Now, obviously, with 5 more seasons under his belt T.O. has the better numbers at this point but if you look at what Chad does, year to year, and average that out for the next five seasons you'd be surprised.

If he continues at the pace he's been on the last five seasons, and I see no reason baring a serious injury that he won't, then this is what his totals would be after his 12th season in the NFL.

Ocho Projected 12 Year Stats

1,019 career receptions
15,235 career yards
14-15 yards per catch average
125 career touchdowns

So if you look at it from this perspective then you'll notice that the only way T.O. is better than Ocho, over the same length of time, is in the TD race and he'd have him only by 4 TDs.

Now I'll admit what I'm pointing out is mere speculation, as we don't have anyway of knowing how well, for how long, Johnson will play but this clearly shows that he's more than obviously in the same league as T.O.

Some people obviously don't like his attitude but I'd quickly point out that the vast majority of people who are Cowboys fans were probably not all that high on T.O. before he got here and started producing so highly for us.

Yes Chad Johnson in one of the elite recievers in the NFL, regardless of what people think about his attitude.
