Can Colombo handle Kampman?

Aaron Kampman is getting tons of press this week, and rightfully so. He's leading the NFL in sacks. Yes, even over the previously-described-as-Godlike Osi Umenyiora and others.

I think we all know Kampman's game -- he's more of a high-motor power guy than a tremendously quick athlete. My first thought is that that's the type of player Colombo can handle, because he himself is a very mentally tough brawler. I don't think Colombo has tremendous strength, though, as he's so tall and almost thin as NFL RTs go. So I wonder if he might get bull rushed at times.

So what do you think?

I think so. Colombo has always done a good job against the big power rushers, like Strahan. Colombo's only given up 2 sacks this season.

Kampman will get his. Great pass rusher always do. The key is to not let them control the game and open up lanes for other guys. I think Dallas can prevent that. They did it to the Giants and Eagles. Those are two of the best pass rushing teams. Colombo will have to win some battles. Wittten and Fasano will help out at times and so will the running backs. Plus you have Romo's ability to move and create.

Detroit was turning to 2nd and 3rd string guys at RT. That made it easy for Kampman in the last game. Plus Kitna is such a statue. Two sacks I saw were very Bledsoesque. He actually moved into the pressure.

I think overall, the Cowboy's offense can deal with the Packer's defense. They probably won't dominate and score 40, but they can move the ball, eat some clock and score some points.

If KGB doesn't play then we could take Kampman completely out the game

Colombo is a tough guy and I think he is loving the challenge of facing Kampman.

I also think if KGB is out then the Cowboys will send help to that side, but if KGB plays then Flozell needs the help more than Colombo for two reasons - Because it's Flo and because it's Romo's blindside/backside.

the bigger question is going to be can Mark Tauscher and his bad ankle (knee?) handle ellis, ware and spencer?

Yep, pressure on Farve will be the biggest factor.

I'm not sure what Flo you've been watching but he isn't the one who needs help. Flo may false start a lil too much but very rarely do you hear from his man. He has handled everybody he has faced this season. How bout Trent Cole for the Eagles, he was leading the league in sacks when we palyed them and Flo ate his lunch. Coles name was never called all game. How bout the Giants and their pass rush, again Flo handled his business. Not sure what you're talking about when you say Big Flo needs help. He has balled this year....

No matter what the final score may be, it certainly looks like we will probably have a game where we will see the lead change throughout the game. Could easily turn into a shoot out. The "young gun" Romo vs. the "old gun" Favre, with home field advantage in the playoffs at stake on the line as well.

I don't remember MC ever being bull rushed. Not saying it hasn't happened.. but I just don't remember it. If that is the major move of this guy on GB.. then he is for a long night.. Marc will own him.

Mark Colombo was a stiff with the Bears. I can't imagine he's any better now.

Kampman will get at least 2 sacks. Romo will be seeing #74 in his dreams.

I look for Cullen Jenkins to have a big game. Watch for Barnett to come in on the blitz as well.

Obviously you haven't watched a single Cowboys game.
