Can Dallas win 12 straight games?

There is lots of talk about Dallas winning out the remaining 5 games. But what if we do and lose in the playoffs - does wining these next 5 then matter? The point is that I want this team to win the SuperBowl. Just making the playoffs is not good enough for me. Yes! I'm being selfish. :D

But think about it realistically. To win the SuperBowl we will have to win 4 straight playoff games. So if we do win all of the next 5, on top of the 3 straight we just previously won, then that means we'll have to win 12 straight games in order to win the next 5 AND the SuperBowl. To me that seems very optimistic and even more unlikely.

So if we have to lose somewhere along the way then the perfect time would obviously be somwhere along these next 5 regular-season games. But which game(s) would be best to lose, given that games against the NYFG and PHilly are must wins because they directly impact our chances to win ther dsivision? That leaves New Orleans, Atlanta and Detroit. I'm also ruling out Detroit because I think it's important to enter the playoffs on a "W". So between Atlanta and New Orleans, I'll have to go with Atlanta. I think New Orleans is a must-win only because they are the tops of their division and beating them can only help build confidence.

Damn, I hope we don't lose to the ATL. I'm planning on driving down for that one.

If we win 5 straight we'll likely have a first round bye, therefore we would only have to win the divisional game, the conference championship and the Super Bowl. Sure that sounds tough, but somebody has to do it.

Atlanta is far. And if I'm driving down saturday, and back after the 8:00 game, they damn sure better win it. ;)

Yeah, if they win out they won't be the wild card team. Its 11 straight.

We definitely would have the first round bye - because if we win out, we finish 12-4, and we'd be the only 4-loss team in the conference. (Unless maybe Seattle.....)

Yeah, if we both win out then Seattle takes it. We would both have the same conference record, but they would have a better common opponents record, since the Giants beat us once.

They have Arizona and TB yet - and if we can split with NY, and they drop one of those.....

Shut up. :p:
LOL...my biggest worry is that they'll get hot with Alexander and Hasselbeck returning. We'll see what kind of team they'll be tonight. Green Bay won't just roll over.

Forgot that GB plans Seattle tonight. Sounds like we need Favre to have one of his heroic performances to beat Seattle. That helps us in the playoff best seed situation. As for winning the next 5 games, admit that will be tough cause essentially we will have won 8 straight games. But if Seattle loses somewhere along the way and our Cowboys plays the best they can & secure 2nd seed and a buy, they can rest for a week before they take on whichever team we supposed to face.

And while I understand you want us to win it all--SB--and upset if we can't make it thru the playoffs I do think your being unreasonable but also not thinking things through. We have a very young team and this will be first time they will have participated in the playoffs--if things go the way we hope. Should we only win 1 playoff and go no further, they will have gained valuable experience for next year. You might remember we did the same thing in 91. Made to the playoffs but lost but that energized the team to win the SB in 92. Part of winning which of course always includes talent and good coaching and fair amount of luck is being confident that your team can be anybody and going out and doing it.

Beating the Giants will be a big deal for our team. To go into a hostile division environment and beat them will send their confidence sky high cause we will finally feel they can beat anyone. Keep the faith.

If we win out then we would have split with the giants, wouldn't that change the common opponents?

We would have one loss against common opponents - they would have none.

If we win out and lose in playoffs... it will different than before... we now have a QB and a future... I wouldnt like losing... but it wouldnt be a bitter pill like in years past....

well if Vandy loses game then it may be bitter
