Can or will we re-sign Canty?

Hard to say given how teams tend to overpay in FA. I hope we do find a way to keep him but it really depends on the market.

Obviously keeping Ware is our main concern. OTOH, only Jerry & Stephen knew how much money will be available depending on what happens to negotiations between the NFL owners and the NFLPA in the next 1-2 years.

I think at some point, we're going to have to start letting decent players go, and it may start with Canty.

Canty was decent last year and below average for most of this year. I would be very careful in over-paying for him based on the entire defense getting hot the past few weeks. Canty has Dana Stubblefield written all over him as he got hot right before his contract...and then was average rest of his career.

Canty had a good game against the GMen but other than that he has regressed greatly this year. Hatcher i believe is an RFA so is likely going nowhere but again he's another that has done nothing.
I would like the 'boys to resign Spears who IMO has improved alot and leads the boys in TFL.

Now is also the time that we need to start drafting guys that can backup and eventually start on this DL. It's not easy to draft 3-4 DE's out of college because so few teams there use the system

Hatcher has been alright, I don't think it would be a huge drop off to give Hatcher Canty's spot.

Yeah, Canty hasn't played as well as he played last year but on the other hand, you have to remember that Canty has been playing hurt all year. He really needs work on his knee but that won't happen till after the season is over. If you compare Canty and Spears, who do you think deserves to get paid?

Those numbers are closer than I thought. I also think that Canty has more pass deflections and TFLs.

Actually, I think Spears makes too much for what he actually does. I'd try to trade him.

I think RLW probably needs to move on as well. I don't know if he wants to play football anymore.

I think that Henry probably needs to go if he can't play Safety.

I think Carpenter probably needs to be moved to a 43 team.

Offensively, I think Procter needs to be gone.

I think Johnson probably needs to retire.

I think TO either needs to be moved or we need to probably think about moving two other WRs between Stanback, Crayton, Austin and Hurd.
