Can someone tell me what TO did to cause this team internal problems this year? And if you mention the accidental OD or oversleeping then you are reaching.

Nothing whatsoever and what he did do he was fined.

TO was a bright spot for the Cowboys in my opinion.

He didn't. If you read any comments by the players, they all love the guy and want him back.

Nothing really. The media has to pin Parcells' retirement on something.

That's what I thought. I was pleasantly surprised by his behavior. Just wondered what the TO haters would say.

Simple.

He breathed.

That's what T.O. haters believe at least. I don't particularly care for him, but I'm not so jaded by my dislike for him to actually believe he is the cause for ALL of our problems.

Our problems are not that simple.

I'm an official Owen's hater but I don't think he played into the BP retirement decision at all. I believe the two are totally unrelated JMO. Like someone said above, the media has to manufacture a story.

I have a theory about why the media hates TO soooo much, kinda who done it so to speak. I have come to the conclusion that he had sex with some high powered person's wife in TV land and they are doing everything in their power to make his life miserable on TV. Weird I know but imagine if somebody more powerful than Donald Trump was mad at you but couldn't kill you, what would be worse? Death is to quick and easy....

He did voice his displeasure with some of the playcalling, but who could blame him? Even a fan sitting in the recliner on Sundays could see that he wasn't utilized properly at times.

he was a distraction overall and i'm sure a nuisance to coaches. not someone to set a good example on young players...

"training camp" didn't want to practice hard.

"rat" and "trust" comments with coach haley

"overdose" nonsense then mad bill didn't phone him

"not used enough" even though he was butterfingers

late to practices/meetings.

etc.

I'll give him a break on the butterfingers. He did have hand/finger problems this year, and played through injury. Secondly, he has always dropped passes, but the media brought it to light this year more than ever. Don't let the media cloud your perception. He scored plenty of TDs, and left quite a few more on the field.

Beware of ESPN. Consider yourself sucked! :laugh2:

nope, i watched the games and wanted to bring him here. don't watch espn or base nfl opinions on video games as many here seem to do. TO's TDs made no difference in outcomes of games (except AZ) and stunk vs the nfc east games in particular.

Sheesh guys, revisionist history? Am I the only here that remembers TO spitting at another player? The acting arrogant about it on national TV right after the game? I'm not a Owens hater, but he is risky and does make a coach's job harder.

If I remember correctly, after the fact it came to light that he spit on him while jawing at him, kinda Bill Cowheresque. He also apologized for it. At first I thought it was disgusting but when he said how it actually happened then it wasn't as bad as portrayed.

How about not listening to Parcells explain how the team should move forward after the Atlanta game...sharing his vision and plan for the playoff push...obviously the team needed to listen to BP's lessons from that speech, but didn't. Either way, if Owens is so arrogant as to think he doesn't need to listen to his coach, did he have to tell the media? Again, I don't love or hate him..in fact, I lean toward defending him usually, but it's clear he's immature and can trouble around a team.

You talking about when he was acting like he wasnt listening when the media asked? Even Parcells made fun of the media for believing he didnt pay attention

Yeah, that was a great way for BP to handle the situation, but it doesn't really address the point: Owens couldn't resist poking at BP through the media. The simple fact that the coach and player admit the player enjoys "sucking" the fans and media in should cause some concern. Why can't he just be a normal player that plays well on the field and doesn't play games with the coach via the media?

Or it could simply mean that the player sucks the media in with non-sense. Again, consider yourself sucked.

The worst thing he did all year was the Michael Irvin interview, but he ended that by saying he loved the Dallas Cowboys and wished he had been here all his life.
