People what would be your thoughts on this subject?

I believe Bill Parcells wants some of his players at Miami, meaning Terry Glenn and Jason Fergurson is two of his players that should be included in this trade w/ one first round 28th a third round for this year and next year for the first pick in the draft and throw Akin Adoyle in the mix to make it bitter-sweet.

:starspin   Would this go through?  :starspin

Short answer No

TG is done no matter what anyone says. Fergie is coming off a season ending injury and what about 35, cant see either being worth more than a 5th each.

What makes you believe Glenn is done? He came back last year for the playoffs and didnt get hurt. He will have a full offseason to rehab for one last year. He may not be the Terry Glenn we were used to, but I think he will be back with us next year.

How about him and Terrell Owens get hurt, who do Cowboys have that is a number one wide receiver?

TG needs microfracture surgery for a reason or didnt you know that. Playing through it he will not be the same, thats why all mock drafts, experts and general cowboys know it alls are predicting us picking up a WR in the first two rounds of the draft. He is done in real terms.

Yes if TO and TG get injured we would be deep in the brown stuff, but chances are that wont happen but if TO gets injured and TG is our go to guy I would start to worry.

What would two mid round 5ths get you not even to the third round I think not a great deal of difference. Fergie will be a good lineman this season helping to develop both Tank and Ratliffe (sp?) in the 3-4 then he will more than likely retire.

We need Ferg; big centers like O'Hara gave Ratliff fits. I just imagine what Gurode would do to him.

Glenn has zero trade value.

Fergy will only play another year or two so his value is very minimal.

I can't see any team giving us more than a 6th rounder for both. Yes both.

Jason Ferguson is a key to 2008 success. Why would we want to trade him away? Exactly, we wouldn't. We need him to keep big OL off of Zach Thomas so he can make plays.

Even when Glenn was healthy Parcells only gave up a 6th rounder for him in 03. Ferguson not going anywhere cause we need him to start and keep OL off Thomas this year.

Just like Julius Jones.

No trade value.

Just like Carp, no trade value.

And actually, if we wanted to turn around and immediately trade Zach Thomas..guess what..?

No trade value.

So..no and no.

Why is it people think that players somebody doesn't want due to age or injury will have trade value..?

Zach Thomas just proved that. He got cut in Miami and we signed him, but we never would have traded for him.

Except for a bag of beans and Bobby Carpenter to Miami.

Terry Glenn and Ferguson in TRADE BAIT might fetch in return a bag of dorito's and a 6 pack of beer, and not the good beer either!

Those 2 are WORTHLESS in trade rumors, hell we got Terry Glenn how many years ago HEALTHY and a lot younger for a 6th rounder. LOL

Don't worry, the 2008 season hasn't started yet. It will be resolved by then. Hopefully with the other Roy W.

But you can say that about EVERY TEAM in the league, I mean can you name me ONE TEAM in the league where if they lost their top 2 W.R.'s they'd have a true #1 W.R. to step in?
Hell, some teams don't even have a true #1 W.R., and most definately don't have TWO #1 W.R.'s on their team and CERTAINLY no one has three #1 W.R.'s on their team to step in if the top two W.R.'s get hurt.
We'll upgrade our W.R. position from what it is now though, don't worry!
We'll either get a Roy Williams, a Javon Walker, or use one of our 1st rounders on a W.R.!
I wouldn't mind getting Desean Jackson at the #28 spot, a C.B. at the #22 spot DRC, a R.B. in round 2, and then grabbing a guy like Jordy Nelson in round 3.
Adding Jackson and Nelson to our current W.R. group would be a huge upgrade, my guess is Terry Glenn won't be back, but you never know.
If Glenn is gonna be back for one more year to be our little speedy guy I wouldn't mind drafting James Hardy or Limas Sweed in round 1.

But if Glenn's not gonna be back, I think we MUST add a SPEED guy in the draft, either Jackson, Manningham, Devin Thomas in round 1 or else someone like Eddie Royal, Donnie Avery, Harry Douglass, or Dexter Jackson later in the draft.

2 DAYS LATER.....
Good Times

Trade Winds Brewing Down In Miami?

Ok, so the Dolphins started with the front office guys. Then they got a head coach and then three more assistants.
They’ve signed a few players who were with the Cowboys at training camp in the past.
And now it’s time for the big-named players.
The Cowboys and Dolphins apparently are close to a trade that will send defensive tackle Jason Ferguson to Miami in exchange for draft picks. But don’t get too excited about that part.
Don’t expect the Dolphins to be sending any first-day picks. It’ll probably be in the neighborhood of a fifth- or sixth-round pick, possibly both.
But should anyone really be surprised?
Ferguson tore his biceps tendon in the season opener against the Giants and spent the rest of the year on injured reserve. He’s 33 with 11 years of NFL experience and if that’s not enough, the Cowboys shelled out big bucks to keep Jay Ratliff and already have Tank Johnson coming back next season, playing for the NFL minimum.
As for Ferguson’s contract, it is hardly for the minimum. He was scheduled to count $5.62 million on the salary cap. While the Cowboys do wipe off his $4 million base for 2008, they will take a signing bonus proration of $3.2 million this season. So add it all up and if Ferguson is not on the team in 2008, the Cowboys will save about $2.4 million.
Ferguson shouldn’t have any problems fitting in. This will be the third time to reunite with Bill Parcells and he’ll even be coached by Kacy Rodgers, the defensive line coach here who jumped ship to Miami to join Tony Sparano, Todd Bowles and Paul Pasqualoni.
