As much as some would like to think the NFL is reeling from shock and wondering how they will meet payroll, they're going to be fine and they know it.

The ratings of the SB had 0 impact on anyone. The ads were presold at 5M a :30 and that will still be the number one live televised event of the year. It is a case of less is more. It was the lowest of the last 10 years but still the #1 show and largest number of viewers of the year.

The blown call and upset fans is nothing more than saber rattling and if they ignored it, few fans would give up the NFL. We're always pissed about something and keep coming back for more. They know they can punch us and we'll just come back "please sirs, may we have another".

If they were forced to take less for the next TV contracts, which is highly unlikely, the last ranked owner in net worth is the cat that owns the Vikings. His net worth is 1.3B and can barely afford a portable garage next to his single wide. Hell, this is a hobby to some of these owners, a toy to play with.

This was set in motion long ago when that first TV deal was greater than all 32 teams combined, the NFL is bulletproof. They have no competition and these start ups all hope to be accepted as the developmental league.

OP, I wish it were so as I do not like what they've done to the game and how they run it but this is our reality and their game.

Maybe we should hold a bake sale for the NFL.

I think they'll be OK.

You expect JJ to save the NFL? By signing a FS, TE, DT? How does that solve the NFL problems that you pointed out in paragraph 1? Nice try
That's the point. The Cowboys can't solve all the NFL problems. There are no solutions to most of those problems. However, the Cowboys can help the rating and positive image problem. But the have to win like they did in 2016 and 2018

After a 2 year decline in TV ratings its easy to see why America's Team is called America's Team: The Cowboys had two of the three most-watched games in the NFL this year.

Here's a look at the five most-viewed games.

1. Cowboys 31-23 over Commanders, 30.5 million viewers (Week 12, Fox)
2. Bears 23-16 over Lions, 26.6 million (Week 12, CBS)
3. Cowboys 29-23 over Eagles, 25.2 million (Week 14 Fox)
4. Steelers17-10 over Patriots, 24.6 million (Week 15, CBS)
5. Saints 31-28 over Steelers, 24.0 million (Week 16 CBS)

Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless can not wait.

Randy Gregory promises to make some 'special' brownies for the sale. Assuming he doesn't eat them all before they can make it to the sale.

One of them was the turkey day game. I bet if you look back through history the Cowboys turkey day game will almost always be the most watched game. It has nothing to do with the popularity of the Cowboys, its because its a holiday and more people are able to watch. You did notice that the Bears - Lions turkey day game was #2, right?

Lol...NFL will continue with or without the Cowboys lol.
Not exactly.

Cowboys generated $227m in profit in 2017.
Second place is the Pats at $119m

Without the profit sharing program, DAL would be generating closer to a billion. More than half of the teams in the league are only profitable because of the revenue sharing program.

If Jerry decided to switch to the XFL, the NFL would lose a huge % of its profits.

The Cowboys generate the profit of the #2-#5 teams combined

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. My favourite bit is the suggestion that the NFL would have it's image IMPROVED by stories about the Cowboys. What like? drug abuse? domestic violence? public disorder? RTA's? .......

Are the Cowboys the most profitable sports team on the planet?

Would that continue if they left the NFL and joined the ranks of the Memphis Maniax and Orlando Rage?

Someone would just take their spot. People would just switch their love and hatred to the next team.

It'd help if the NFL rescinded some of the stupid rule changes and policies that they initiated during Roger Goodell's reign as commissioner.
